Layoffs Linked to AI Exceed 90,000 Since 2025



The figures come from data collected by The Alliance for Secure AI, a nonprofit organization that educates the public on the implications of AI. Brendan Steinhauser, CEO of the alliance, has called on politicians to step in and take action against this replacement strategy.

Over 90K Jobs Have Been Replaced by AI

As artificial intelligence (AI) advances, more job positions are becoming redundant and are being replaced by these systems.

According to figures compiled by The Alliance for Secure AI, a nonprofit that seeks to educate the public on the effects of AI, AI-linked layoffs have reached 90,450 since 2025, as companies begin to rely on agents to perform more tasks.

The data, which includes layoffs announcements from Atlassian, Amazon, Morgan Stanley, Crypto.com, and Block, tracks reports “where AI is either explicitly cited or credibly blamed as a material factor,” with a reporting window that started on January 1, 2025.

While some reports explicitly blame layoffs on AI, the institution also adds statements that include AI as one of many reasons for these layoffs in its numbers.

Brendan Steinhauser, CEO of The Alliance for Secure AI, has stated that this data, part of a dashboard launched by the institution, serves as a warning to everyone and a call to action to preserve these jobs in an imminent AI replacement age.

Steinhauser stressed the need to tackle this issue, explaining that politicians are oblivious to this reality.

Monero (XMR) Price’s 16% Breakdown Still Likely Due To Indecisive Investors



Monero ($XMR) is trading at $359.55, down 0.61% on the day, holding inside an ascending channel but unable to break the descending trendline that has capped every rally since January.

Two money flow indicators are sending conflicting signals, leaving traders caught between a bearish breakdown setup and a potential reversal.

Mixed Signals Suggest Weak Conviction From $XMR Holders

The Chaikin Money Flow (CMF) currently reads -0.18, its lowest reading since the chart’s start in late February. The indicator peaked at approximately +0.16 on February 25, then began a consistent series of lower highs and lower lows.

A descending trendline drawn directly on the CMF shows that $XMR’s netflow deterioration has been steady and deliberate. The indicator crossed below zero around March 5 and has not returned above it since.

A CMF at -0.18 signals that volume-weighted selling pressure is substantial. For this reading to reverse, buyers would need to close multiple consecutive candles in the upper half of their daily range — something price has struggled to do under the descending trendline resistance near $370.

Despite the bearish CMF reading, the Money Flow Index (MFI) tells a different story. Since late January, price has been making lower highs while the MFI has been making higher lows — a textbook bullish divergence.

The MFI currently sits at 58.61, in neutral territory. The ascending trendline drawn on the indicator has held through multiple $XMR price dips, including the tests near $305–$310 in early February.

Despite that stabilization, demand for options that pay out on a price decline has remained unusually high.
Bitcoin traders are paying more for downside protection than at any point on record relative to spot volume, according to a mid-March report from investment firm VanEck. The data shows that even as Bitcoin prices have stabilized near $70,000, investors remain heavily positioned to profit if prices fall further.

Bitcoin's realized volatility dropped from 80 to just above 50 over the past month. The price has held relatively steady during that period, recently trading around $69,891. Despite that stabilization, demand for options that pay out on a price decline has remained unusually high.

Traders spent approximately $685 million on put options over the 30 days covered in VanEck's report. That figure declined 24% compared to the prior month but still ranked above 77% of all monthly observations since the start of 2025. Call option premiums fell 12% over the same period to around $562 million.

The put/call open interest ratio averaged 0.77 during the period and peaked at 0.84. VanEck said that peak is the highest level recorded since June 2021, when China moved to restrict Bitcoin mining activity. The firm described the reading as reflecting "unusually strong demand for downside hedging relative to bullish positioning."

Relative to spot volume, put premiums reached roughly 4 basis points, which VanEck identified as an all-time high in its dataset. That level is approximately three times higher than readings observed in mid-2022 following the Terra/Luna stablecoin collapse and the Ethereum staking liquidity crisis.

Futures funding rates also eased during the period, falling to 2.7% from 4.1%.

If you look closely, Saylor’s Strategy is doing more than just “buy and hold.” Behind the scenes, the company is raising money, like selling shares, to keep buying more Bitcoin.

This helps them collect a large portion of Bitcoin’s limited supply on their balance sheet. This approach shows that Saylor strongly believes in Bitcoin as a long-term asset, even when the market is uncertain.

Market conditions are raising eyebrows

That being said, the current market reflects strong fear among retail investors, with Bitcoin hovering around $68,578 and the Crypto Fear & Greed Index firmly in the “extreme fear” zone.

Many traders are even betting on Bitcoin’s price dropping below $45,000 rather than a move toward $100,000 this year. Yet, despite this sentiment, Strategy continues to buy Bitcoin without hesitation.

So far, the company has made 103 purchases, accumulating a massive 761,068 BTC. However, due to aggressive buying at higher levels, its average purchase price stands at around $75,696, putting its $52.36 billion holdings at an unrealized loss of roughly 9%.

This clearly shows a strategy focused on accumulation rather than timing the market.

Strategy’s “buy the dip” formula

MSTR’s stock is also under slight pressure, trading at $135.66 at press time. However, looking at MSTR stock options, there’s a clear battle happening.

Many traders have placed “put” bets between $80 and $110, which suggests they believe the stock has strong support in that range and may not fall much lower.
