Bitcoin Price Struggles Below $68,800, Facing Downward Pressure

Bitcoin has failed to maintain its position above the $68,800 mark, experiencing a decline and now consolidating below $68,000. This pullback follows a failed attempt to rally past the $70,500 level, indicating that upward momentum has stalled.

Currently trading below both $68,800 and its 100-hour moving average, Bitcoin is forming a bearish trendline on its hourly chart, with resistance at approximately $67,250. If the price remains suppressed by the $68,000 and $68,800 levels, further downward movement is a distinct possibility.

The cryptocurrency recently saw a drop from highs near $71,985, breaching the $68,800 and $68,000 supports to test the $65,000 zone, with a low recorded at $65,030. This places Bitcoin near the 23.6% Fibonacci retracement level of that recent decline. Immediate resistance lies at $68,000, with a more significant hurdle at the trendline resistance around $67,250. A sustained move above this level could pave the way for a test of $68,500 and potentially higher towards $69,200 and $70,000.

However, failure to overcome the $68,500 resistance zone could trigger another sell-off. Key support levels to watch are $65,750 and $65,000. A breach below these could expose Bitcoin to further losses, with the $64,200 and $63,500 levels becoming critical for preventing a more substantial downturn.
