The Senate Agriculture Committee today released the text of a cryptocurrency bill, scheduled for consideration on January 27. The agreement clarifies the Commodity Futures Trading Commission's (CFTC) regulatory authority over the cryptocurrency market and exchanges. The bill defines digital commodities and distinguishes them from the Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) securities rules. The CFTC targets exchanges (Home: CFTC and SEC), a different framework from the Senate Banking Committee's cryptocurrency framework. Chairman John Buzman scheduled this release to expedite negotiations, as the two banking committees' bills are separate from previous ones. The cryptocurrency bill grants the CFTC primary regulatory authority over the spot digital commodities market. Notably, the bill defines digital commodities as blockchain-based assets used for pricing, governance, or network fees. The SEC's definition of securities is global, unless sold under an investment contract. In contrast, the Senate Banking Committee's draft grants the SEC greater discretion. The draft introduces the concept of "auxiliary assets," which the SEC can classify as non-securities on a case-by-case basis. However, this approach limits the CFTC's automatic regulatory power and relies on inter-commission coordination to address regulatory overlaps.  The CFTC has established three new registration categories for traders and dealers. In contrast, the CFTC has a separate category for banks. Conversely, it favors the SEC's regulation, integrating cryptocurrency rules into existing securities laws. Bipartisan Support and Ongoing Tensions: Bipartisan support is roughly equal, but negotiations will continue. The CLARITY Act passed in July 2025 with 294 votes in favor and 134 against, including 78 votes in favor from the Senate. On Wednesday, January 2, 2026, the Ethereum price bounced over 2.6% to reach its trading value of $3,015. The renewed buying pressure followed U.S. President Doland Trump’s decision to cancel EU tariffs and announce a framework for the Greenland deal. However, the uptick is still considered a short relief rally to recuperate the exhausted bearish momentum before next breakdown. The latest on-chain data further accentuated the selling pressure from large investors, accelerating a risk of prolonged correction.


Whales Move 110K ETH as Ethereum Price Corrects


Over the past week, the Ethereum price plunged from $3,400 to current trading value of 15.68%. Consequently , the asset’s market cap plunged to $363.6 billion. The downswing primarily triggered with geopolitical tension as Trump announced additional tariffs on eight European nations, which he recently revoked.


However, the open interest associated with the ETH’s further contract also retraced from $41.67 billion to $38.4, projecting a 7% drop. The loss of open interest can be attributed to forced liquidation of long positioned traders as market downtrend accelerated.

Solana успешно выдержала крупную DDoS-атаку, длившуюся более недели.


Сеть оставалась полностью работоспособной, не демонстрируя простоев, пропущенных блоков или серьезных задержек.


Эта атака контрастирует с недавними инцидентами в других сетях, включая Sui.

Блокчейн Solana проходит серьезное стресс-тестирование из-за необходимости противостоять DDoS-атаке. Несмотря на это, сеть продолжала работать без простоев.

Система мониторинга сети показала, что все функционирует должным образом. Транзакции подтверждались практически мгновенно, а блоки генерировались вовремя.


 Данные сети Pipe Network показали, что среднее время подтверждения транзакции составляло около 450 миллисекунд. Даже самые длительные подтверждения занимали не более 700 миллисекунд. Время обработки слотов не превышало нуля или одного слота. Это означает, что валидаторы могли генерировать блоки даже при значительном объеме трафика. В этом сценарии эксперты ожидали увидеть значительную задержку транзакций, пропущенные слоты и длительное время подтверждения. Но этого не произошло.


Аналогичные атаки наблюдались в прошлом в отношении Google Cloud, AWS и Microsoft Azure. Максимальные зафиксированные случаи варьировались от более чем 2 Тбит/с до более чем 40 Тбит/с.


В отличие от этого, вчера произошла DDoS-атака на сеть Sui. Это привело к задержке в генерации блоков и замедлению производительности.
