Ripple USD [RLUSD] has surpassed $1.64 billion in market capitalization, strengthening its position among the largest dollar-backed stablecoins.

The milestone reflects continued supply expansion and adoption since launch, helping RLUSD establish a clearer gap over smaller competitors.

At press time, its daily trading volume stood at $71.3 million. This implies steady market activity as the stablecoin expands its footprint across payment and settlement networks.
Tether [USDT] commands the largest share of the stablecoin market cap, at roughly $186.4 billion, while USD Coin [USDC] trails it, holding nearly $75 billion.

While the milestone reinforces its growing relevance, the difference highlights the network’s progress and the scale of the challenge ahead for the native U.S. dollar-pegged stablecoin of the Ripple [XRP] ecosystem.

Michael Saylor Reveals When Bitcoin Price Might Start Rallying Again

Bitcoin has struggled to pull-up in recent weeks, even as institutional adoption continues to grow. While many investors are looking for reasons behind the slowdown, MicroStrategy Executive Chairman Michael Saylor points to an unexpected factor: artificial intelligence.

Speaking with Natalie Brunell, Saylor argued that the current wave of AI investment is temporarily pulling capital away from Bitcoin. However, he expects that trend to reverse before the end of the year.

The ‘AI Summer’ Effect

According to Saylor, Wall Street is currently focused on a series of massive AI-related fundraising rounds.

He highlighted companies such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Meta, and SpaceX, which are investing heavily in AI infrastructure and data centers.

According to Saylor, these high-profile deals have become the hottest trade on Wall Street.

“Everybody wants to get into the deal. They want to flip the deal,” Saylor said.

As a result, money is being redirected from multiple asset classes, including Bitcoin. He estimated that around 1% to 2% of the capital flowing into AI investments is coming from Bitcoin-related allocations.

Ripple’s RLUSD Gets Cross-Chain Boost Across XRPL, Ethereum, L2s With Squid Integration

Squid has enabled instant cross-chain access for Ripple's RLUSD.

Users can easily swap the stablecoin across the XRPL, Ethereum, Base, and Optimism.

The platform is already integrated into several protocols on the XRP Ledger.

Cross-chain platform Squid has enabled instant cross-chain swaps for Ripple’s RLUSD, boosting the stablecoin’s access across several networks, including the XRP Ledger (XRPL) and Ethereum. This follows the stablecoin’s recent launch on Ethereum layer-2 networks through Ripple’s partnership with Wormhole.
In a blog post, Squid announced that it will power payments and interoperability for the stablecoin, enabling instant multichain movement across the XRP Ledger, Ethereum, Base, Optimism, and other networks. With this, the platform becomes the cross-chain swap and transfer layer for the stablecoin, with direct swaps from USDC, USDT, and other crypto assets to RLUSD.

By enabling instant cross-chain swaps, users will no longer need to manually bridge, wrap, or perform multi-step routing to use the Ripple stablecoin across multiple networks. This represents a major step in enabling cross-chain interoperability for the stablecoin, which is natively issued on the top layer-1 network Ethereum and the XRP Ledger.

It is worth noting that this move comes just weeks after the RLUSD stablecoin went live on Ethereum layer-2 networks, including Base and Optimism through Wormhole’s Native Token Transfers. Despite the move, the stablecoin’s market cap has recently dropped from around $1.7 billion to $1.6 billion.
