Metaplanet has acquired additional bitcoin for its treasury, reaching its goal of 210,000 BTC by 2027.

On August 4, Metaplanet added 463 BTC, bringing its total holdings to 17,595 BTC.

BTC has returned 170% year-to-date, with the price of bitcoin per share up 22x in 11 months.

Capital raising, bond redemptions, and expansion plans indicate continued BTC accumulation.

 Metaplanet has acquired 463 Bitcoinbtc0.72% bitcoins for ¥7.995 billion ($55.17 million), at an average price of ¥17.27 million ($119,163) per BTC, according to an August 4 disclosure. The purchase brings the company’s total bitcoin holdings to 17,595 BTC, valued at ¥261.28 billion ($1.80 billion).

The latest acquisition boosts BTC’s year-to-date return to 170%, with a quarter-to-date return of 24.6%. BTC return is Metaplanet’s key performance metric for assessing shareholder growth, measuring the growth of bitcoin per fully diluted share over time.  As of August 4, the company's bitcoin price per fully diluted share was 0.0201, up 0.00088 from a year earlier.
