Ripple and SEC propose to vacate injunction, seeking $75M for XRP and $50M for SEC.

Morgan warns court could reject Ripple’s conditional settlement for exceeding its authority.

Deaton sees 70% chance of approval, but a quick ruling could mean another rejection.

Ripple’s ongoing lawsuit with the US SEC continues to unfold as a new joint motion seeks to end the four-year legal battle. Lawyer Bill Morgan sees potential in this recent filing, particularly in its emphasis on changing the final judgment, a key provision in Ripple’s proposed settlement with regulators.

Morgan highlighted a powerful argument in the recent filing that arguing that changing the final judgment is essential to the settlement agreement between the two parties.  According to Morgan’s analysis, this provision is key, making it not just a request, but the basis of a compromise.

Last week, Ripple and the SEC jointly filed a motion asking Judge Analyse Torres to modify her final ruling. The lawsuit seeks to overturn the injunction that prevented XRP from being offered to institutions and proposes a revised fine structure that awards Ripple $75 million and leaves the SEC with $50 million.1750057580550.png
