Gavin Wood: I personally do not plan to issue new tokens based on the JAM protocol

Gavin Wood, the founder of Polkadot, responded to the issuance of JAM Token on the Polkadot forum. He said: I personally do not intend to issue new tokens based on the JAM protocol, nor do I think it is wise for Parity and the Web3 Foundation to issue such tokens. Of course, the leadership of these organizations can decide for themselves. I usually oppose actions that do not bring actual net benefits to Polkadot, but I will continue to explore ideas that may bring long-term value to Polkadot. Sometimes this may involve new tokens, but these tokens are usually symbiotic with DOT, rather than replacing it.
