Cerebras, OpenAI, SpaceX: The IPO pipeline that could drain cryptoCerebras Systems priced its IPO at $185 per share on Wednesday evening, targeting a $5.5 billion raise and valuing the AI chipmaker at $40 billion, according to the Financial Times.

The company, a maker of chips purpose-built for the workloads powering tools like Claude Code and ChatGPT, was valued at $8.1 billion just eight months ago, the Financial Times said.

The rapid increase highlights just how fast investor capital is flowing into artificial intelligence, a trend that has become a significant headwind for digital assets as attention shifts toward AI-related equities.

The frenzy has made U.S. equities the undisputed destination for risk capital in recent months. Intel (INTC) is up 218% year to date. Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) and Micron Technologies (MU) have more than doubled. The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index is up 66% while the benchmark S&P 500 has gained 8%.

#South Korea is considering a phased contribution to international efforts aimed at maintaining safe navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, according to Defense Minister Ahn Gyu-back. The announcement signals Seoul's willingness to support regional maritime security without immediately expanding direct military involvement.Speaking to South Korean media correspondents in Washington on Wednesday, Ahn said he discussed the matter during a meeting with U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth earlier this week.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Ahn emphasized that South Korea intends to act as a responsible member of the international community while carefully reviewing practical ways to contribute. The defense minister explained that Seoul's phased support could involve political backing, information-sharing, personnel deployments, and the provision of military assets. However, he clarified that no detailed talks had taken place regarding a significant expansion of South Korean troop participation in the region. Ahn also stressed that any future decisions related to military involvement would need to follow South Korea's domestic legal procedures. His remarks come shortly after an attack on a South Korean-flagged vessel near the Strait of Hormuz, an incident that raised concerns about maritime security in the strategically important waterway.South Korea's presidential office strongly condemned the attack and said authorities are continuing to investigate who was responsible. The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world's most critical shipping routes, handling a major portion of global oil exports. During the bilateral meeting, Hegseth reportedly called on U.S. allies to "stand shoulder-to-shoulder" amid growing global security threats. He also praised South Korea's plans to boost defense spending and increase its role in regional security as part of broader alliance burden-sharing efforts. A new $525 million lawsuit has been filed against law firm Fenwick & West over its alleged role in the collapse of FTX, adding another major chapter to one of crypto’s biggest scandals.

The lawsuit, filed by 20 FTX victims from multiple countries, claims the Silicon Valley law firm helped create the legal and corporate structure that allowed the fraud to continue while giving the exchange an appearance of legitimacy.

According to court filings, former FTX engineering director Nishad Singh testified that attorneys were informed about the misuse of customer funds but allegedly continued advising the company instead of distancing themselves. The complaint also accuses the firm of helping establish shell entities and internal communication systems that allegedly made regulatory oversight more difficult.

The case highlights how the fallout from the FTX collapse continues expanding beyond executives and into the broader network of firms and partners connected to the exchange.
