A court-appointed bankruptcy examiner found that Fenwick & West was “deeply intertwined in nearly every aspect of FTX Group’s wrongdoing” — and now that finding sits at the heart of a $525 million federal lawsuit filed against the Silicon Valley law firm.

Shell Companies And Deleted Messages
Twenty victims of the FTX collapse, coming from five countries, filed the complaint Wednesday in the US District Court for the District of Columbia.

They say they lost their life savings when the exchange went under in November 2022, and that Fenwick’s involvement gave FTX a false sense of legitimacy that kept them from pulling their money out in time. Six individual defendants are named alongside the firm.

The examiner’s conclusions came after a review of more than 200,000 documents in the federal bankruptcy proceedings.

According to the lawsuit, the examiner found that Fenwick created corporate structures for both FTX and its sister trading firm Alameda Research, formed shell entities to hide money movements, and drafted backdated agreements to cover up illicit transfers.

Two specific acts are described in detail. Reports indicate Fenwick attorneys set up North Dimension Inc., a Delaware shell company that posed as an electronics retailer while allegedly funneling over $3 billion in stolen customer funds.

The firm also reportedly put in place FTX’s auto-delete messaging policy on the Signal app — the same system federal prosecutors say helped the fraud go undetected.

Nishad Singh, FTX’s former Director of Engineering, adds another layer to the case. Singh pleaded guilty to fraud charges and testified against Sam Bankman-Fried at his criminal trial.

Gemini Stock Jumps After Winklevoss Twins Make $100M Bitcoin Bet on Company Future

Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss announced a $100 million Bitcoin-funded investment into Gemini alongside a Q1 earnings report showing 42% year-over-year revenue growth.
Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss made their boldest statement yet about Gemini Space Station’s future: a $100 million strategic investment into their own company, funded not with cash but with Bitcoin. 

The announcement, paired with a first-quarter earnings report that showed 42% revenue growth year-over-year, sent GEMI shares climbing more than 20% in after-hours trading Thursday night.

Gemini (NASDAQ: GEMI) reported total revenue of $50.3 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2026, driven by a surge in services and OTC revenue. Services and interest income jumped 122% to $24.5 million, while credit card revenue climbed 300% to $14.7 million. The net loss narrowed to $109 million, an improvement from the $141 million loss recorded in the same quarter of 2025. Shares closed at $5.26 on Wednesday before the earnings release, then hit $6.33 in extended trading — representing a gain of over 20%.

Shares were up over 30% this morning before settling at the time of writing. The headline move, however, was the Bitcoin-denominated investment. Winklevoss Capital Fund purchased 7.1 million shares at $14 per share — nearly triple the stock’s recent market price of around $4.92. 

Tyler Winklevoss, the company’s CEO, said in a statement: “We believe the market has significantly undervalued Gemini, and that this investment will allow us to set up the company for its next phase of growth.” 

The $14 entry price, paid in Bitcoin, signals the twins’ conviction that both the company and the flagship digital asset have room to run.

Solana is seeing renewed interest from institutional investors, who appear to have flipped bullish on SOL again. This follows the record inflows that the SOL ETFs have recorded since the start of this month, which have pushed the altcoin to a four-month high.

Solana Sees Fresh Inflows From Institutional Investors
According to SoSoValue data, Solana ETFs have recorded a total net inflow of $90 million since the start of the month, higher than their net inflows over the past three months. Notably, these funds saw total inflows of $26 million on May 11, which is the highest daily net inflow since February 25.

The Solana ETFs now boast total net assets of $1.02 billion, which represents almost 2% of SOL’s market cap. Meanwhile, renewed inflows into these funds pushed SOL to a four-month high of around $97, with the altcoin now eyeing a push toward the psychological $100 level. However, derivatives data paint a mixed signal about the sentiment towards SOL at the moment.

CoinGlass data show that the long/short ratio is currently below 1, suggesting that more traders remain bearish on Solana. However, SOL’s derivative trading volume has surged by 33%, reaching $12.81 billion. Options volume is up 116%, reaching $37.75 million, while the options open interest has climbed 22% to $125 million.

It is worth noting that Solana and the broader crypto market remain under bearish pressure as U.S.-Iran peace talks appear to have stalled. This has raised concerns that the war could begin again, which is bearish for crypto prices. At the same time, recent inflation data show that inflation is steadily rising due to the war in Iran.
