Hyperliquid leads 24-hour gains as altcoins pace bitcoin
While bitcoin , the largest cryptocurrency, remains below its 200-day simple moving average despite the Clarity Act moving to a Senate vote, alternative cryptocurrencies are rallying.
Hyperliquid's $HYPE leads over 24 hours, gaining 16% to trade near $45. At one point, the price hit nearly $47, the highest since October. The rally comes after yesterday's debut of Bitwise’s Hyperliquid ETF and as crypto exchange Coinbase (COIN) said it will become the official treasury deployer for the $USDC stablecoin on Hyperledger Fabric, a modular blockchain framework for developing enterprise-grade applications.

Hyperliquid, a decentralized exchange, has emerged as a go-to venue for trading tokenized and TradFi-linked assets, particularly during weekends when traditional financial markets are closed. The platform’s pre-IPO asset CBRS, which anticipated Thursday's stock-market debut of Cerebras, recorded more than $280 million in trading volume over the past 24 hours, making it the ninth-largest traded asset on the exchange.

Other notable gains are Flare Network's FLR token, up 14%, and Unibase's UB, up 11%.

In traditional markets, gold dropped 2% and Treasury yields rose to 12-month highs while the Dollar Index gained for a fourth straight day.

PancakeSwap Revamps Perps with Order Book ModelPancakeSwap said that PancakeSwap Perps received a major upgrade, rebuilding the product from its legacy liquidity-pool design. According to the blog, the new Perps engine now runs on a full order book model, replacing the old LP-based system.

The update affects PancakeSwap perps traders by changing how liquidity, pricing and execution work. The exchange said the order book design improves capital efficiency, removes oracle dependency, supports tighter spreads and adds tools such as isolated margin, multi-asset mode, limit orders and stop orders.

PancakeSwap said the legacy version remains available for users who prefer it, while the new product adds Simple Mode for one-tap long or short trades with preset sizes. The next point to watch is user migration, as Perps New is positioned as a cleaner trading path for both beginners and experienced traders.

Schwartz points to a classic paradox - in cryptocurrencies, capital usually rules. Large corporations can afford expensive hardware and entire engineering teams, which is why their nodes and validators operate flawlessly and without interruptions.
How XRPL stops big tech from buying out the network

According to Schwartz, if the creators of $XRP Ledger had focused only on achieving perfect technical stability, the network would have quickly fallen under the full control of a handful of IT giants. To prevent that outcome, Schwartz insists on attracting a large number of ordinary independent participants from different regions.
But that raises a problem: what happens if their servers suddenly go offline because of internet outages or power failures?

To solve this dilemma, Schwartz and his team implemented the Negative UNL (Negative Unique Node List) mechanism. If a small independent participant suddenly goes offline, the remaining servers, through consensus, temporarily place that participant on a blacklist and continue processing payments quickly without waiting for them.

Schwartz emphasizes the "surprising detail" that this list cannot be turned into a censorship weapon. Even if large corporations colluded and deliberately added an independent participant to it, they still would not be able to strip that participant of voting rights.
