有消息显示，Chase Herro 称得上是「加密老兵」。此前其曾在一段现已删除的 YouTube 视频中自称「互联网上的混蛋」，长期从事「加密货币创业」，此前曾因持有大麻被指控，并于美国威斯康辛州监狱呆了几周。其最早于 2023 年夏天于迈阿密郊外的 Witkoff 家族旗下私人高尔夫俱乐部——壳牌湾俱乐部与 Zach Witkoff 结识。

值得一提的是，根据此前《纽约时报》的报道，在兜售 WLFI 代币的过程中，为了获得与特朗普家族合作的特权，有消息称部分加密初创公司须向 WLFI 项目秘密支付数百万美元，尽管不少公司拒绝了这一提议，但最终「WLFI 2 轮公募共募资 5.5 亿美元」的结果还是说明了这一隐藏内幕如约发生。
