friend.tech 的衰落证伪 SocialFi?不,SocialFi 真正的希望在这儿

近期,friend.tech 放弃合约控制引发市场热议,团队解释这并不是跑路,那么 friend.tech 还有希望吗?friend.tech 的衰落是否证伪 SocialFi?为什么说 friend.tech 的衰落是意料之内的事情?SocialFi 真正的希望又在哪儿?

friend.tech 实质上已破产清算,SocialFi 更应重视「Social」部分

9 月 8 日,friend.tech 团队宣布已将 Admin 和 ownership 参数设置为 0×000…000。该消息一出,该协议代币 FRIEND 价格一度下跌超 20%。据 Coinmarketcap 数据显示,此前 FRIEND 代币在今年 5 月份曾高达近 3 美元,跌幅 更是高达 97%。

市场为什么对 friend.tech 的反映这么大?这是因为 friend.tech 此举意味着该团队的开发者已放弃了对智能合约的控制,协议未来将不会再有任何升级与改进,这引发市场对其跑路猜测。不过,随后团队发文称:「团队没有关闭或停止 friend.tech 网站应用的计划;之前放弃合约权限的操作主要为确保无法对部署在 Base 上的智能合约进行任何未来的更改,这些更改可能会增加或产生新的费用;这些操作不会以任何方式影响 friend.tech 网站应用的当前功能,用户所知道和使用的一切都保持不变。」

虽然 friend.tech 团队的解释表示「一切都保持不变」,但从数据上看,friend.tech 实际上已难以为继。The Block 数据显示,今年 5 月末起 friend.tech 日活用户已不足 100 人;8 月 7 日,friend.tech 日活跃用户仅 5 人,其中独立买家 3 人,独立卖家 2 人,创历史新低。从经营一家公司角度看,这样的运营数据很难存活,一旦其团队放弃任何新的更新,更难有起死复生的可能。所以笔者认为,friend.tech 实质上已经破产清算。另外,friend.tech 团队也不断向 Coinbase 转入 ETH,其总额 19477 枚。

friend.tech 当时红极一时,其更注重 SocialFi 中「Fi」部分,其以经济激励机制刺激用户快速迁移。但 friend.tech 的这种繁荣中更多是羊毛党,其大量发送垃圾信息赚取代币,损害真实用户的权益,最终羊毛党撸完羊毛之后,只能落寞收场。

与 friend.tech 的竞品 Farcaster 相比,去中心化的社交网络协议 Farcaster 更注重 SocialFi 中的「Social」部分。比如,近期 Meme 代币火爆,Farcaster 的插件可以可以将这些消息及时的触达用户,这使得越来越多的 Meme 项目开始通过 Farcaster 发布信息,与此同时,大量用户也开始涌入 Farcaster 以获取最及时的消息。Farcaster 今年 7 月巅峰时期日活用户超过 10 万,即便目前依然维持 7 万的日活。

Farcaster 成功启示录,有望扛起 SocialFi 大旗

虽然 friend.tech 的失败,让市场对 SocialFi 大失所望,但其实也不必对这个赛道太过悲观。friend.tech 的失败实质上在加密市场很普遍,他们的共性都是太依靠加密经济机制刺激了,伴随撸毛党一撤,便很难维持虚假繁荣。不仅是 SocialFi,此前的 GameFi 等很多项目都是如此。对于投资者而言,应该警惕那些过分依赖「DeFi」的应用。未来,真正能提供实用功能的项目才会走得更远,Farcaster 有望扛起 SocialFi 大旗。

从上文可以看出,Farcaster 更加注重「Social」部分,并且能根据加密市场变化,从用户的需求点出发开发出有针对性的应用插件,从而进一步捕获真实用户,这个策略目前看很成功。事实上,Farcaster 从一开始就非常务实。

Farcaster 的两位创始人 Dan 和 Varun 都曾在 Coinbase 担任重要职务,其拥有丰富加密市场资源。在早期测试阶段,创始人 Dan 利用个人的影响力和关系,邀请了包括 V 神在内的许多知名 OG 入驻,同时通过推特私信获取邀请码的方式筛选了早期用户,因此使得 Farcaster 的用户群体具有极高的「精英」浓度。去年十月,Farcaster 开放了注册,但仍然设置了 5 美元的入场门槛,此举有效地阻挡了大量机器人账号的注册,维护了 Farcaster 整体的良好氛围,与曾因机器人泛滥而衰退的 Nostr 形成了明显的对比。

Farcaster 创始人 Dan 还基于 Farcaster 协议开发了一款 Warpcast 应用,目前占据了 Farcaster 协议流量的 90% 。Warpcast 整体架构与传统的 Web2 社交软件 Twitter 相似,用户可以发布推文(cast)、评论、转发,并关注其他用户。除了类似 Twitter 的社交媒体功能外,Warpcast 还引入了 channel、action 等功能,从而衍生出更多的互动方式。例如,DEGEN 利用 Farcaster 生态中用户的参与度来分发代币,用户通过关注频道并进行互动可以参与 DEGEN 的空投,空投的代币可以作为打赏送给其他用户。

另外,Farcaster 今年的巨大增长与二月推出的 Frames 功能密切相关。Frames 是内嵌在 Warpcast 中的迷你小程序,用户无需离开 Warpcast 就能进行更多样化的互动,如铸造 NFT、内容订阅、玩小游戏和领取代币等。举例来说,far.cards 是一个基于 mint.club 开发的,专属于 Farcaster 用户的集换式卡牌项目,每位用户的卡牌属性值根据其在 Farcaster 上的活跃程度而定,比如粉丝数量,收到的赞和回复等。卡牌的价格由 bonding curve 决定,购得的卡牌可以收藏,也可以交易。

整体上看,Farcaster 团队在 SocialFi 赛道中确实属于团队在做事的类型,其更注重用户 Social 的需求,并能根据加密市场的特点进行针对性的开发设计。这无疑是其未来能成功的关键。五月,Farcaster 的开发商 Merkle Manufactory 宣布完成了新一轮融资,由 Paradigm 领投,总额达 1.5 亿美元,将公司估值提升至 10 亿美元。这也代表着机构对于 Farcaster 的认可。

SocialFi 发展的真正痛点是什么?Farcaster 被忽视的一个潜在价值

事实上,SocialFi 发展真正的特点其实仍然是加密采用难题。简单来讲,目前加密市场的主要用户仍然存在于中心化的交易场景中,使用去中心化应用和工具的用户仍然不多。笔者认为,一方面欺诈问题确实很严重,尽管很多项目一开始想认真做事,但太多的项目做着做着就跑路了,最后能坚持下来的项目屈指可数。这就造成了加密市场骗局很多的印象,用户需要一个信用建立的过程。传统行业可以通过监管,但加密行业的去中心化让作恶风险很低,这使得一般用户不太能或者不敢接受。另外,加密应用的使用门槛仍然较高,对于一般的小白很不友好,这也是以太坊下一次升级着重解决的事情。另外,笔者认为还有一个很重要的问题是,区块链行业自身创造的价值仍然相对有限,这使得当下投机(撸羊毛等)仍然是主流,广泛的真实应用需求并不存在。

笔者仍然认为,目前区块链行业发展处于初期,未来 Web3 仍然会来,这也就是说用户迟早会进来。在这样的假设下,Farcaster 有一个潜在价值值得注意。Farcaster 的创始人之前是 Coinbase 高管,Farcaster 与 Base 生态紧密联系在一起,Base 链的核心负责人 Jesse 在 Farcaster 上非常活跃。Farcaster 上粉丝最多的前 500 名用户中,超过 70% 的链上交互发生在 Base 链上。而 Base 背后是 Coinbase 的大力支持,Coinbase 又连接着传统金融市场,这非常有利于 Farcaster 的未来发展。
