Inside the $87 million BTC sell-off driving a Bitcoin treasury pivot into AI data centersThe company still held 1,514 BTC and $45 million of debt on July 10 as it moved capital toward two separate infrastructure investments.Nasdaq-listed Bitcoin treasury company Empery Digital has added a completed AI-infrastructure investment to its strategy, closing a $20 million preferred-equity stake in Cardinal Data Power while a much larger property commitment remains conditional.

The company said it signed and closed the Cardinal investment on July 20, taking an approximately 8% stake in the Hunt Properties-affiliated developer. The deal formed part of an approximately $70 million Series A intended to support Cardinal’s proposed West Texas data-center campus. Its future capacity, conversion of a campus letter of intent into a binding lease, and power-delivery dates remain projections.

The closed investment confirms a broader capital-allocation shift, although Empery has not said its recent Bitcoin sales directly funded Cardinal. The company had already signaled the change on June 30, when it discontinued its treasury dashboard because it said NAV reporting based on Bitcoin holdings no longer fully reflected total company NAV.

ONDO Cryptocurrency Traders Are Making Big Leverage Bets – What's Next: $0.45 or $0.35?

ONDO broke resistance at $0.4 as futures market activity exceeded spot trading volume.

Ondo Finance (ONDO) is on the verge of recouping all of its July losses. The altcoin rebounded from a $0.37 drop, successfully holding at $0.4, and reached a local high of $0.41.

At the time of writing, ONDO was trading around $0.406, after a slight 5.6% gain on the daily chart. Over the same period, the altcoin's trading volume increased by 55% to $123 million, indicating growing market participation.
The rise in ONDO's price, although driven by a change in overall market sentiment, has also led to increased demand from traders for leveraged bets.  Trader Sarosh noted that activity on the ONDO futures market remains higher than on the zSpot spot market. This indicates traders' willingness to use leverage.
CoinGlass data confirms this market gap. ONDO futures trading volume grew 54% to $285 million, while spot market trading volume increased 67% to $64.6 million.
This represents a $218 million gap between futures and spot, indicating a high level of risk appetite in the ONDO market.

In light of this, traders have invested significant capital in opening new positions. In fact, altcoin derivatives trading volume increased 59% to $288 million, and open interest increased 6% to $204 million.
