The US paused its bombing campaign on Friday following 13 nights of intensifying airstrikes. The development has caused a dip in oil prices and a jump in US stock futures and crypto markets.July’s Consumer Confidence data is due on Tuesday, which reflects how consumers are spending. This is followed by the week’s big event on Wednesday when the Fed announces its rate decision and Fed Chair Kevin Warsh holds a press conference, setting policy direction.

The meeting comes amid growing uncertainty about tech sector valuations, AI infrastructure spending, and economic growth trajectory amid a backdrop of inflationary pressures.

The market “feels very frothy,” Kristina Hooper, chief market strategist at Man Group, told Reuters. “Investors are, to a certain extent, walking on eggshells, and they’re more likely to react negatively to any signs of imperfection.”Odds of rates remaining the same have fallen to 63.7% on the CME Fed watch tool, which now predicts a 36.3% chance of an increase.

July’s PCE inflation data is due on Thursday, followed by the Michigan Consumer Sentiment data and Inflation Expectations data on Friday.

Leading cryptocurrencies lifted late on Sunday alongside stock futures as investors weighed the pause in hostilities between the U.S. and Iran.

Overnight Rally For Crypto

Bitcoin lifted to $65,500 late in the day, only to face sharp resistance from the bears. Trading volume rose nearly 9% over the last 24 hours.

Ethereum followed a similar path, spiking to an intraday high of $1,960 only to reverse sharply and retreat lower.

Over $200 million was liquidated from the cryptocurrency market in the last 24 hours, with $160 million in bearish short positions erased, according to Coinglass data.

Bitcoin’s open interest fell 1.75% over the last 24 hours. A decrease in open interest alongside an increase in spot price typically indicates short covering, signaling that short sellers are buying back contracts to exit positions.

That said, "Fear" sentiment prevailed in the market, according to the Crypto Fear & Greed Index.

The global cryptocurrency market capitalization stood at $2.22 trillion, following a contraction of 0.54% over the last 24 hours.

Stock Futures Surge Amid Pause in Fighting

Stock futures rallied overnight on Sunday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average Futures jumped 253 points, or 0.49%, as of 8:50 p.m. EDT. Futures tied to the S&P 500 gained0.66%, while Nasdaq 100 Futures climbed 1.21%.

The U.S. after striking for 13 days. Iran has also stopped its retaliatory attacks since then. However, Washington continued its naval blockade of Iranian ports.

Is Bottom Finally in?

Michaël van de Poppe, a widely followed cryptocurrency analyst and trader, declares the cryptocurrency market bottom is “very likely” in, with a strong bet on the Ethereum ecosystem and altcoins outperforming Bitcoin.

POSCO International, South Korea's largest trading company, has begun tokenizing trade receivables on blockchain in a test that could speed up commercial payments between its global subsidiaries.

The company, which generated $22.2 billion in revenue last year from businesses spanning steel, energy and battery materials, is working with LG CNS, the technology arm of LG Group, to issue, transfer and settle receivables on layer-1 blockchain Injective INJ$4.9980, the firms told CoinDesk in a press briefing.

The pilot is using receivables generated by real trade between POSCO's overseas operations and their counterparties rather than simulated transactions.

Trade receivables represent money owed to a company after goods have been shipped but before payment is received. Today, those claims are typically tracked separately by buyers, sellers and banks, with reconciliation often taking days before cash can be released.

The companies said putting receivables on a shared blockchain ledger creates a single record that can be transferred and settled while carrying compliance rules with the asset itself.

"This PoC is significant in that it validated the applicability of AI and blockchain technology based on real trade data and processes," a POSCO International spokesperson said. The firm said it plans to expand the initiative into live production after completing the pilot later this year.

Much of the industry's recent attention has centered on tokenizing funds and equities. Asset managers including BlackRock, Franklin Templeton, Apollo, Fidelity, Janus Henderson and Mubadala Capital have all brought funds onchain, betting blockchain infrastructure can streamline issuance, settlement and collateral management.
