Utexo and x402 Expand USDT Payments

Utexo, a Bitcoin-native settlement layer for stablecoin payments, announced a collaboration with x402 to add USDT support to the x402 payment protocol. The update enables real-time transactions between autonomous systems with settlement speeds of up to 50 milliseconds.

x402, an open protocol for embedding payments into HTTP requests, allows applications and APIs to process transactions using the HTTP 402 “Payment Required” status. The model removes the need for user accounts or pre-funded balances, enabling direct, on-demand payments between services.

Utexo, a provider of low-latency confidential payment infrastructure, focuses on secure and fast execution for machine-driven transactions. In April 2026, the company joined the Linux Foundation, a global organization supporting open-source development.

The integration targets use cases where software systems transact independently. These include API payments, access to data services, and coordination between platforms without manual input.

Cardano (ADA) founder Charles Hoskinson warns of a major danger in Bitcoin! “1.7 Million BTC at Risk!”


Recent concerns about advancements in quantum technology have become a significant and widely debated topic in the cryptocurrency market.

While many are expressing their opinions on quantum risk at this point, the founder of Cardano issued a warning regarding Bitcoin.

Cardano (ADA) founder Charles Hoskinson warned that the proposed Bitcoin upgrade could lead to 1.7 million $BTC being frozen.

Speaking to Coindesk, Hoskinson argued that the BIP-361 proposal, which aims to protect Bitcoin against quantum computing, has been incorrectly classified as a soft fork, and that this classification is wrong.

Hoskinson claimed that if this proposal were implemented, approximately 1.7 million $BTC created before 2013, including the 1 million $BTC held by anonymous Bitcoin founder Satoshi Nakamoto, would be permanently frozen.

The renowned founder stated that it would be impossible to transfer these 1.7 million early-issued coins because their owners lacked the means to provide proof, as these coins were issued before the introduction of seed phrases.

“Because the first Bitcoins were created before the seed syntax was introduced, proving ownership is difficult and therefore transferring ownership is impossible.”

He accused Bitcoin developers of unscrupulously imposing a hard fork by misleadingly labeling BIP-361 as a soft fork.

Citi analysts say holding both gold and bitcoin can improve portfolio performance compared with traditional bond-and-equity mixes. Citi noted that bitcoin often performs better than gold when bond markets weaken, highlighting recent gains amid geopolitical and equity market stress. Over the past two months, bitcoin has risen 9%, while spot gold has declined 4%. Saunders said the tactical appeal of a combined allocation lies in balancing the relative popularity of gold with bitcoin’s growth characteristics.

Bitcoin price analysis

Bitcoin’s move above $75,000 reflects more than a technical breakout; it signals a shift in how markets are valuing the asset amid rising geopolitical tension. After rebounding from a February low near $60,000, bitcoin has climbed roughly 23%, holding firm even as traditional markets face pressure.

Traders now view the $75,000–$76,000 range as a critical resistance zone, with a breakout potentially opening a path toward $80,000, while failure could send price back toward the low-$70,000s or below.

Underneath the surface, derivatives data suggests a market positioned for a potential squeeze. Funding rates on perpetual futures have remained negative for over six weeks, indicating persistent bearish positioning despite rising prices. Historically, this combination of negative funding, rising open interest, and price stability has preceded upward breakouts, as short sellers are forced to cover.
