This stability in market share reinforces the balanced nature of current flows. After a strong week, Bitcoin has entered a cooling phase where incremental buying and selling roughly offset each other, causing price to oscillate in a narrow band rather than establishing a new directional trend.

Derivatives positioning reveals a clear cooling of speculative pressure, which typically compresses short-term volatility and reduces the likelihood of sharp moves. Global crypto derivatives open interest, including Bitcoin, currently sits at approximately $376 billion compared with above $404 billion at recent highs just days ago. Perpetuals open interest has similarly rolled lower, reflecting reduced speculative positioning across the board.

The 24-hour Bitcoin liquidation value stands at only $8.32 million, a stark contrast to nearly $700 million over the past seven days. Daily liquidations have dropped more than 90% from the prior day, signaling the absence of forced unwind events that typically drive large price candles.
