What were once emerging initiatives, including models, tokenized assets and private markets, are now real businesses contributing to momentum today while still early in their growth,” WisdomTree CEO Jonathan Steinberg said. 

The firm’s year-end financial statement recorded $2.24 billion worth of crypto assets under management, a growing fraction of its AUM dominated by U.S. equities, commodities, and fixed income exchange-traded funds.


Asset manager WisdomTree (NYSE: WT), a growing player in the crypto sector, reported record assets under management at the end of last year, totaling $144.5 billion. 

This represents a 5.3% quarter-over-quarter increase, driven by market appreciation and the firm’s Ceres Partners acquisition, despite some net outflows, WisdomTree said in its Q4 report. 

Although the majority of WisdomTree’s assets under management are tied to its U.S. equities, commodities, and fixed income exchange-traded funds, crypto represents a growing part of the firm’s business. 

WisdomTree reported having $2.24 billion worth of crypto assets under management by the end of the fourth quarter, down from nearly $3.2 billion at the beginning of the quarter, but up from $1.9 billion in Q4 2024.

“What were once emerging initiatives, including models, tokenized assets and private markets, are now real businesses contributing to momentum today while still early in their growth,” WisdomTree CEO Jonathan Steinberg said. 

The first year of President Donald Trump’s second term fomented a sea change in the institutional adoption of crypto, particularly seen by the launch of dozens of crypto-related exchange-traded products.

Polkadot Treasury Posts First OpenGov Profit as DOT Price Lags


Polkadot’s treasury became more active and more conservative in the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2025, according to a new treasury report.


The Polkadot treasury spent $7.4 million in Q4, the lowest level since OpenGov was introduced. Polkadot's governance transitioned to the OpenGov model in June 2023.


After accounting for inflation and token burn, the treasury posted a net profit of 1.6 million $DOT, its first positive result under the current system. At the end of the quarter, the treasury held about 32 million $DOT, worth roughly $58 million.


The report outlined that most spending went to core areas: Development received $2.5 million, followed by outreach at $1.7 million and operations at $1.3 million. Meanwhile, a record 68% of spending was handled through departments and bounties. Another 30% of spending was done in stablecoins.


The treasury also became more active across the Polkadot ecosystem, with around $3.8 million deployed into DeFi-related market operations. The report noted that funds were managed across multiple parachains, including Hydration and Bifrost. The treasury now holds a mix of $DOT, USDT, USDC and HOLLAR.


Despite all of this, $DOT’s price remains near all-time lows. Today, the token is trading at $1.69, down 72% over the past year, per CoinGecko.$DOT Chart


The findings align with broader trends across interoperability solution blockchains. In a separate report released earlier today, Sygnum said interoperability activity continues to expand, while tokens tied to these networks struggle to record gains. Tether, the world’s largest stablecoin issuer, reported more than $10 billion in net profit for 2025 as $USDT circulation climbed above $186 billion by year’s end, according to its Q4 2025 attestation report.


Total reserves rose to nearly $193 billion, continuing to exceed liabilities, with excess reserves reaching $6.3 billion.


Nearly $50 billion in new $USDT was issued during 2025, with roughly $30 billion minted in the second half alone as demand surged across payments, trading, and emerging markets.


Tether’s exposure to US Treasuries reached fresh records, with direct holdings exceeding $122 billion and total Treasury exposure topping $141 billion. The figures place the company among the world’s largest holders of US government debt.


The company’s gold division has also expanded rapidly as bullion prices reached all-time highs. Tether Gold (XAUT) surpassed $2 billion in market capitalization, accounting for more than half of all gold-backed tokens in circulation.


CEO Paolo Ardoino said $USDT’s growth reflects rising global demand for dollars outside traditional banking systems, adding that USD₮, with its network effect and parabolic growth, has become the most widely adopted monetary social network in history.
