Strategy Raises $544.5M Through MSTR Share Sales, Skips Weekly Bitcoin Purchase

Strategy raised $544.5 million in net proceeds through the sale of 5.43 million MSTR shares between July 20 and July 26, while repurchasing 288,930 shares of its STRC preferred stock for $25 million, according to the company’s latest update.

The company’s Bitcoin portfolio remained unchanged during the reporting period at 843,775 BTC. Strategy said it has invested a total of $63.69 billion in the cryptocurrency, representing an average acquisition cost of $75,476 per Bitcoin. Its U.S. dollar reserve increased to $3.75 billion.

Strategy also said it intends to continue repurchasing STRC preferred shares whenever they trade below $100 per share. The company has approximately $975 million remaining under its existing buyback authorization.

Bitcoin Price Prediction: Schwab's Jim Ferraioli Explains His $95,000 Estimate

Bitcoin may be trading above what some investors expected this year, but according to Charles Schwab's Head of Crypto Research, Jim Ferraioli, its "fair value" could actually be closer to $95,000.

Ferraioli said his valuation is based primarily on Bitcoin's mining economics, rather than short-term market sentiment.

Why $95,000?

"If you were to say what's the fair value for Bitcoin at these levels, I think it's probably about $95,000." He said.

He explained that the most efficient Bitcoin miners currently produce BTC at a cost of around $60,000, while less efficient miners are closer to $95,000. Drawing a comparison with traditional commodity markets, Ferraioli said that producers generally operate on relatively thin margins, making production costs a useful benchmark for estimating fair value.

Notably, the lower mining-cost estimate of around $60,000 represents a potential fundamental support zone. This level also lines up with Bitcoin's 200-week moving average, which has recently been around the $60,000-$62,000 range.

He also clarified that the figure isn't a price target, but rather a valuation based on the economics of Bitcoin production.

CEO Ryan McInerney said in a company memo obtained by Bloomberg that the layoffs would largely affect the technology and product teams. Visa employed about 34,100 people at the close of its last fiscal year.

McInerney said the company is reshaping how it operates to better position itself for future growth, arguing that greater efficiency will enable Visa to reinvest in higher-potential businesses. He noted that AI is accelerating software development and changing how employees work, although it is said that the technology was not the sole reason for the job reductions.
Visa plans to reinvest in key strategic areas, including consumer payments, commercial and money movement solutions, and value-added services such as stablecoins, cross-border payments and business-to-business products.
