Solana is drawing renewed market attention after on-chain data revealed fresh activity from Alameda Research wallets. According to blockchain analytics platform Arkham, Alameda recently unstaked approximately $17 million worth of SOL and transferred the tokens to its bankruptcy-controlled accounts. These movements are part of the firm’s ongoing asset management process, as funds recovered from the estate are periodically redistributed to creditors.

Alameda Research was once one of the most influential trading firms in the cryptocurrency industry. Founded by Sam Bankman-Fried, the company operated as a quantitative trading desk closely tied to the FTX cryptocurrency exchange. Alameda played a major role in providing liquidity across digital asset markets and maintained large positions in several major cryptocurrencies, including Solana.

However, the firm collapsed in November 2022 following the dramatic failure of FTX. Investigations revealed that billions of dollars in customer funds had been misused and transferred between the exchange and Alameda, triggering a liquidity crisis that quickly spiraled into one of the largest bankruptcies in crypto history.

Since then, Alameda’s remaining digital assets have been gradually managed through court-supervised bankruptcy proceedings. The periodic unstaking and distribution of SOL tokens reflects the ongoing effort to recover value for creditors while liquidating portions of the estate’s remaining cryptocurrency holdings.

Bitcoin's building steam and a $3 billion trigger could make it wild

Bitcoin BTC$72,556.52 looks to be gathering bullish momentum, with volatility expected to increase as prices near a $3 billion trigger point.
The leading cryptocurrency by market value climbed through $72,100 during European hours, the widely tracked average price over the past 50 days. According to analysts, a firm move above this level would confirm bullish momentum, potentially drawing in more buyers.

Volatility is likely to pick up should prices near $75,000. That's where options market makers, who provide order-book liquidity and ensure a seamless trading experience, are holding net "short gamma" positions worth $3 billion, according to Markus Thielen, the founder of 10x Research.

It means that as prices climb toward that level, these entities are likely to buy to rebalance their net exposure to neutral even as prices rise. This so-called dealer hedging could boost market volatility, potentially accelerating any rally. Note that market makers make money through the bid-ask spread, not price direction.
"The options market shows roughly $3 billion of negative gamma exposure at the $75,000 strike, meaning dealers are likely short gamma around this level. As Bitcoin moves higher toward this region, dealer hedging flows can begin to play a more important role in shaping price dynamics," Thielen said in a note to clients.

That's not, however, a set-in-concrete scenario. Alex Kuptsikevich, the chief market analyst at FxPro, worries that macro headwinds will arrest gains in bitcoin.

"External factors are acting as a headwind, including rising oil and dollar prices, as well as the Nasdaq 100 and S&P 500 indices falling to their 200-day lows.

Litecoin (LTC) founder Charlie Lee warns that Satoshi Nakamoto’s estimated 1.1 million Bitcoins ($BTC) are vulnerable to quantum-computing attacks.

The warning raises an uncomfortable governance dilemma for Bitcoin’s decentralized community. If Satoshi is no longer alive or accessible, no one can migrate those coins to safety, and freezing them would mean compromising Bitcoin’s foundational principles.

Why Satoshi’s Bitcoins Are “Less Safe”

In an interview with BeInCrypto, Lee explained that while quantum computing could, in theory, crack current encryption methods, the technology hasn’t yet reached that level in practice. Still, he emphasized that the threat extends far beyond cryptocurrency, potentially undermining the security infrastructure of global finance, communications, and more.

For crypto specifically, the stakes are high. If quantum computers were to break wallet encryption, anyone could access and spend someone else’s funds, effectively destroying the foundation of the entire crypto ecosystem. However, not all wallets face the same risk.

“The million Bitcoins that Satoshi has. Nobody knows who Satoshi is….Those coins are not well protected. They’re actually less safe than current coins in terms of quantum attacks,” Lee told BeInCrypto. “If quantum does happen, those will be the first coins that will be kind of broken into.”

The vulnerability stems from the transaction format. In the earliest days of Bitcoin (2009–2010), most transactions used Pay-to-Public-Key (P2PK) scripts rather than the later Pay-to-Public-Key-Hash (P2PKH) format.

P2PK: The transaction output directly contains the public key.

P2PKH: The output contains a hash of the public key, which hides the actual key until the coins are spent.

Lately, ETFs have been under the microscope.

Before they came onto the scene in 2024, Bitcoin [BTC] post-halving rallies went absolutely parabolic, as scarcity plus a surge in demand sent prices skyrocketing. Now though, with ETFs softening that scarcity, capital outflows have put a real dent in both sentiment and technical setups.

Notably, the timing of this move couldn’t be any more intense.

On the macro side, the conflict in the Middle East and its immediate hit on oil supply is sending FUD around the globe. In fact, even BlackRock hasn’t been immune, which is why it offloaded some of its ETH holdings. For instance, nearly 100,000 ETH have moved out of BlackRock’s wallet, back to levels we last saw in Q3 2025.

Still, ETH’s charts haven’t really flinched. Steady inflows into the BlackRock Ethereum ETF (ETHA) have mostly neutralized the impact. That raises a key question – Has ETF-related FUD finally calmed down, and could this launch be the next catalyst for ETH to make a move?
