While the growth was significant, TON’s climb was not a straight line; the price wobbled shortly after passing the $2.50 mark for the first timeMarket data shows TON slipped by 12% shortly after reaching $2.53, staying below that level until Wednesday evening. A second rally saw TON climb from $2.45 at 9:20 p.m. EDT on May 6 to $2.89 at 3:09 a.m. EDT on May 7, its highest level since Oct. 7, 2025.

The rally follows what industry analysts, including Elliotrades, describe as a “regime change” for the blockchain. Since a legal battle with the U.S. Securities and Exchange

Commission (SEC) forced Telegram to distance itself from the project years ago, TON has been managed independently by the TON Foundation. Polygon just upgraded its network, reducing average block times to 1.75 seconds — the first major speed improvement since launch. That may sound technical, but the impact is simple:
Transactions now move faster.
According to Polygon engineers, the upgrade increases the network’s theoretical capacity to around 3,260 transactions per second, helping reduce congestion for stablecoin payments, DeFi activity, and on-chain transfers.
And in the payments industry, speed matters.
But the bigger story is what Polygon is building around that speed.
The network is increasingly positioning itself as infrastructure for institutional stablecoin payments.
This week, Polygon introduced a new privacy-focused wallet system using zero-knowledge proofs through its integration with Hinkal. The system hides transaction details from public view while still allowing compliance checks through Know Your Transaction (KYT) screening.
That reveals something important about where crypto is heading:
The industry is trying to solve two major problems at the same time:
• Users want privacy
• Regulators want transparency and compliance
Polygon is attempting to offer both.
And major companies are starting to pay attention.
Visa has already added Polygon to its stablecoin settlement pilot program. Meta is using Polygon for some USDC creator payouts. Stripe is handling payment processing and tax support for those transactions.
In other words, Polygon is slowly evolving from “just another blockchain” into payment infrastructure for large-scale real-world finance.
But there’s still a harsh reality.
Despite all the upgrades and partnerships, Polygon’s POL token remains down more than 50% over the past year.

TrustLinq, a cryptocurrency payment infrastructure provider, has announced the integration of its cross-border payment network, Ripple Payments.

The company announced that, thanks to this integration, it has expanded its direct settlement model for payments from crypto assets to fiat currencies on a global scale.

TrustLinq stated that one of the biggest problems in the crypto ecosystem is the complex structure of the conversion processes from cryptocurrencies to fiat currencies. The company explained that when users want to send a payment to a vendor, contractor, landlord, or supplier, they have to go through many intermediaries, including exchanges, custodial accounts, off-ramp providers, sending banks, and correspondent banking checks. TrustLinq was developed to eliminate this chain, the statement added.

As part of the new integration, TrustLinq will now operate on the Ripple Payments infrastructure. This will enable direct crypto-to-fiat transfers in payment corridors where traditional banking systems struggle to provide service. The U.S. stock market is heating up in a way that suggests speculative mania. It matters to bitcoin as analysts have linked the cryptocurrency's recent rally to increased risk-taking on Wall Street.

The overheating signals come from options tied to the S&P 500. These are derivative contracts that let traders bet on or hedge against moves in the index. A call option is a bet that the index will rise above a certain price within a set time. A put option does the opposite, offering protection from declines in the index.

On Wednesday, U.S. equity derivative exchanges registered a notional volume of $2.6 trillion in S&P 500 call options, according to data tracked by Zero Hedge. That amounted to 60% of total S&P 500 options activity. To put it into context, the notional amount nearly matched the total crypto market valuation of $2.73 trillion, which represents the combined capitalization of thousands of cryptocurrencies, with bitcoin leading the way.

In essence, the majority of market participants were positioned for upside through calls or bullish exposure.

On the surface, the implication for bitcoin is straightforward: it is bullish. A speculative surge in the S&P 500 could spill over into crypto, driving valuations higher. After all, double-digit gains in the S&P 500 and Nasdaq since early April played a big role in lifting bitcoin to $80,000 from under $70,000 a few weeks ago.

QCP Capital put it best early this week when $BTC broke above $80,000: "After a solid April, $BTC has begun May on firm footing, breaking above $80k for the first time since January 31. The move appears aligned with equities, reinforcing a broader trend as $BTC's correlation with U.S. stocks climbing back toward 2023 levels, signaling a renewed linkage with risk assets broadly."
