Bitcoin broke through $80,000 on August 25th, marking its first time reaching this level in nearly 15 weeks. Over the past eight trading days, BTC has risen by approximately 28%, briefly surpassing $81,000. From its low point at the end of June, this rebound has approached 38%.

ETF Inflows Drive Buying Intensity

The US spot Bitcoin ETF recorded approximately $1.92 billion in net inflows in the week ending August 21st, marking its strongest weekly inflow since October 2025. Inflows have continued for five consecutive trading days, becoming one of the clearest sources of incremental buying in this rally.

In addition to spot fund inflows, short covering also amplified the gains. Traders who had previously bet on a decline were forced to close their positions after the rapid price increase, further pushing up short-term volatility. However, this type of buying is usually limited in duration, and the market's future performance will depend on whether ETF and spot demand can be sustained.

 $80,000 to $82,000 Becomes a Short-Term Observation Zone

From a technical perspective, the $80,000 to $82,000 range has become a major resistance area for Bitcoin. This range corresponds to the upper edge of the May trading range, where strong selling pressure previously occurred.

If the price can stabilize above this range, it indicates that the buying pressure after the rebound is continuing; if it fails to hold after breaking through, the market may enter a consolidation phase, with the nearest support area at $76,000 to $78,000.

Some momentum indicators still show strong fund inflows, but the short-term level is also approaching overbought levels.
