Bitcoin whales have purchased 270,000 BTC in the last 30 days, marking the highest figure since 2013. This is an interesting jump in appetite after several weeks far below projections.

Crypto trading platform Bitfinex cited the on-chain data on X, sparking bullish reactions from analysts and traders. The top crypto recording the highest monthly accumulation among industry whales is pivotal to the newfound momentum.

After losing 35% of its value over the past months, Bitcoin traders faced headwinds from industry and macroeconomic factors. Liquidations soared to new multi-month highs, weighing on wider market sentiment. On the other hand, geopolitical tensions in the Middle East threatened financial market stability as energy prices soared.

Charles Hoskinson Praises Zcash Then Explains Exactly Why It Is Struggling to Survive
Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has shared a detailed and balanced take on Zcash, acknowledging its legacy while pointing out the challenges it faces today.

Speaking in a recent discussion highlighted by The Rollup, Hoskinson described Zcash as one of the “OGs of OGs” in crypto, crediting it for pioneering privacy-focused cryptography that is now being used in newer systems like Midnight. He also noted the strong principles behind the project, calling its team “cypherpunks at their core” and emphasizing mutual respect between builders in the space.

“The biggest issue right now, Zcash is not programmable, and so it’s a fixed-function ledger. And so they do have a path to it. They created a framework called ZEXE for that, and they’ve been doing amazing things, but we’re the first to market right now with programmable Zcash, you know?”

However, he pointed out a valid limitation—Zcash is still largely a fixed-function ledger, meaning it lacks programmability compared to modern blockchain platforms. While frameworks like ZEXE aim to address this, newer projects are already moving faster in that direction.

Liquidity Problem & The Dual-Token Fix

The bigger concern? Liquidity.

“The big thing that Zcash has to contend with is liquidity, because if you look at where regulation is going, protocol-level privacy, where the asset is shielded by default, that is having a harder and harder time getting listed on exchanges, you know?”

As regulations tighten globally, privacy coins with shielded-by-default features are finding it harder to get listed on exchanges. This has led to declining liquidity rather than growth, making long-term adoption more difficult.

Ethereum Network Transaction Volume Reaches Highest Level Since 2023! Here Are the Details



The Ethereum mainnet reached its highest ever quarterly transaction volume in the first quarter of 2026, processing a total of 200.4 million transactions.

This figure represents more than double the increase seen in 2023, when the figure was around 90 million, indicating that the network is experiencing a strong “U-shaped recovery”.

However, the divergence between the network’s fundamental data and price performance is noteworthy. Ethereum’s price has fallen by more than 50% compared to its peak of around $5,000 in August 2025, and is currently trading around $2,330.

According to experts, the main driving force behind the increase in transaction volume has been the rise in Layer 2 solutions and stablecoin usage. Specifically, the Base and Arbitrum networks have increased user engagement thanks to lower transaction fees, and this activity is reflected back to the Ethereum mainnet through bridging and consensus processes.

On the other hand, Token Terminal data shows that the stablecoin supply on Ethereum has reached a record high of $180 billion, accounting for approximately 60% of the global market.

Analysts note that the Dencun update significantly reduced Layer-2 data costs, but this hasn’t been reflected to the same extent in metrics like transaction fees and token burning.
