Reddit shares jumped about 12.6% in after-hours trading on Aug. 14 after the company said it will be added to the S&P 500 on Aug. 18, according to AP.

Reddit, Inc. (NYSE: RDDT) confirmed the inclusion in a company statement, noting the change takes effect prior to market open on Aug. 18 as an off-cycle index addition prompted by the acquisition of a current S&P 500 constituent (press release).

Reddit said RDDT will enter the S&P 500 before the opening bell on Aug. 18.

The company described the move as an off-cycle addition triggered by the acquisition of an existing S&P 500 member, which created a vacancy in the benchmark index. The announcement came via a corporate press release distributed on Aug. 14.

Bitcoin Price Faces Pressure as ETF Outflows Extend to Third Day

Bitcoin price faced pressure as spot ETF outflows reached $57.63 million.

Bitcoin supply in profit fell to 51.4%, pointing to deeper holder losses.

Ether ETFs recorded zero net flows, showing weaker institutional positioning.

Bitcoin price traded near $63,000 as ETF flows and onchain profitability weakened market positioning.

SoSoValue data showed U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $57.63 million in net outflows on Aug. 14. The session marked the third consecutive day of withdrawals.

Bitcoin traded around $62,800 to $63,000 during Friday trading. Investopedia reported Bitcoin near $62,500 that morning, while Economic Times placed it at $62,847.

Meanwhile, Bitcoin supply in profit fell to 51.4%, its lowest level in over three years. The reading showed almost half of circulating supply sitting at an unrealized loss.

Ether ETFs recorded zero net flows during the same session, adding another weak institutional demand signal.

Bitcoin Price Pressured as ETF Outflows Center on BlackRock

SoSoValue data shows cumulative Bitcoin ETF net inflows stood at $51.79 billion after the August 14 session. Meanwhile, total trading value across the products reached $1.06 billion during the day.

Notably, BlackRock’s IBIT accounted for most of the daily withdrawals. The fund recorded $55.51 million in net outflows, equal to approximately 883.34 BTC.

Fidelity’s FBTC also registered withdrawals, with $6.84 million leaving the fund. That figure represented about 108.79 BTC based on the reported data.

However, Bitwise’s BITB moved against the overall flow direction. The product attracted $6.14 million, equivalent to approximately 97.68 BTC.

Several other products recorded no daily net movement. They included Grayscale’s GBTC and BTC, ARKB, HODL, and Morgan Stanley’s MSBT.

Solana Tests Descending Resistance as Trader Maps $130 Upside Scenario
Solana is pressing against a descending trendline after spending much of July and early August below a sequence of lower highs. Trader Daink’s daily $SOL/USDT chart presents a bullish swing setup from around $75, but the path toward the projected $130 target requires $SOL to clear several major resistance levels first.

$SOL trades near $75.31 on the chart, close to the point where a descending resistance line from the early-July high meets the current price. That makes the immediate area important: a sustained move above the trendline would weaken the short-term bearish structure and could give buyers room to challenge higher resistance.

The first major level above price is $82.25. Solana previously reacted around this zone, and reclaiming it would provide stronger confirmation that the breakout is developing rather than becoming another rejection from descending resistance. Above $82.25, the chart marks $98.40 as the next significant hurdle.

A break through $98.40 would materially strengthen the bullish scenario because it would move $SOL above a resistance area that capped price during earlier rebounds. From there, the chart identifies $114.55 before the larger upside objective around $130.70. The green projection on the chart shows that $130 area as the trader’s main swing target, not as a guaranteed destination.

Staking protocol Lido has finally activated its long-awaited automatic $LDO token buyback program. The programme, also known as NEST (Network Economic Support Token), was first floated last year.

According to the project, the program is now live on the mainnet with a daily limit set at $50K and annual purchases capped at $10M.

It seeks to ensure automatic, dynamic $LDO buybacks, taking into account prevailing market conditions. Under the NEST design, only 50% of the daily staking revenue exceeding $109K will be directed to the buyback program.

That translates to a $40 million annual revenue baseline. Anything below that ($109K daily) means there will be no buyback.
That said, the bought $LDO tokens won’t be burned but will be owned by the DAO treasury. The program was previously criticized for being too low compared to other protocols.

For comparison, Hyperliquid is doing about $100M in annual buyback. Aster and Uniswap run a $40M annual program while PUMP eyes $35M. Compared to $LDO’s $10M annual plan, it was 3-10x smaller than other ongoing programs.

Lido’s bumpy buyback start

That said, the current staking rewards were still below the daily average of $109K to trigger the buyback program. According to DeFiLlama, the protocol has been making around $75K in daily revenue in August.
The last time Lido crossed above $109K in daily revenue was back in April 2026 during broader Q2 recovery across the crypto market.

In other words, NEST will truly kick in if broader market sentiment improves. Even so, most experts hailed the dynamic buyback move. Gabriel Shapiro, a pro-crypto attorney, said,
