Cardano Shatters Decentralization Record with Major Network Milestone Cardano (ADA) has reached a new milestone in its decentralization journey after recording its highest-ever Nakamoto Coefficient, a key measure of how widely control is distributed across a blockchain network. According to data shared by blockchain analytics platform Chainspect, Cardano’s Nakamoto Coefficient climbed to 16, setting a new all-time high for the network. Notably, community members described the milestone as an important step toward greater decentralization, saying it strengthens the network’s resistance to censorship and spreads control across a larger number of participants rather than concentrating it in a few hands. The Nakamoto Coefficient measures the minimum number of entities that would need to collude to disrupt a blockchain. For proof-of-stake networks like Cardano, a higher coefficient indicates that control is more widely distributed, making coordinated attacks harder. For Cardano users, the new record suggests that influence over the network is becoming more distributed rather than concentrated in the hands of a small group. Analysts often view this as a key indicator of long-term security and resilience. Meanwhile, ADA experienced heightened volatility on Thursday following a period of high market liquidity, surging more than 20% over the past week. The token recently climbed to $0.199, its highest level in about a month, after hitting a low of $0.153 in July, marking a gain of nearly 30% from the recent bottom. Popular analytics firm Santiment noted that Cardano has been one of the stronger performers in an otherwise uneven altcoin market. The firm added that the rebound has been supported by ongoing ecosystem activity, including Leios, Hydra, Mithril, Pyth integration and Catalyst funding. However, the recovery has not been accompanied by a broad return of smaller holders.
