Trump-backed American Bitcoin hits 8,000 BTC as ABTC stock rebounds

American Bitcoin Corp. said its Bitcoin reserve has moved above 8,000 $BTC after its latest treasury update.

In a July 6 post on X, the company said its Bitcoin reserve has grown more than threefold since its Nasdaq debut, while its satoshis-per-share metric has also grown nearly threefold.

BitcoinTreasuries data showed American Bitcoin holding 8,000 $BTC, worth about $512 million, among publicly traded Bitcoin treasury companies. The same tracker ranked the company near the top tier of public corporate $BTC holders, ahead of GD Culture Group and Galaxy Digital in the U.S. list.

A ‘Positive’ Verdict on a Controversial Sale
Grayscale Research has offered one of the most upbeat institutional assessments yet of the first large bitcoin sale by Strategy Inc. (Nasdaq: MSTR). The firm laid out its case in a research note titled “Shifts by Strategy Reduce Bitcoin Tail Risks,” published as the market digested the disposal. The asset manager wrote on X on Monday:

“Grayscale Research believes Strategy’s bitcoin ( BTC) sale last week may reduce financing risk and support bitcoin price stability. The recent ~$216M sale boosted dollar reserves to cover ~17 months of dividend payments. The rebound in STRC suggests investors are responding positively.”

Bitcoin News: More than 16 months after President Trump signed the executive order establishing a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve, the U.S. government has not formally designated a managing agency, has not publicly disclosed its full holdings, and has not acquired a single satoshi of new Bitcoin, the result of an unresolved turf war between the Treasury Department and the Commerce Department over which agency should control roughly 328,372 BTC valued at approximately $25 billion.

The DOJ Office of Legal Counsel is now mediating between the two departments, a development that signals the dispute has moved beyond bureaucratic friction into genuinely contested legal territory.

The March 6, 2025 executive order created two separate structures: the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve, composed of forfeited Bitcoin the government acquired through seizures, and a broader U.S. Digital Asset Stockpile for other confiscated crypto assets.

The order also directed Treasury and Commerce to develop budget-neutral methods for expanding Bitcoin holdings, a constraint that, combined with the unresolved oversight question, has effectively frozen any new accumulation.

Bitcoin slips below $64000: are long liquidations ending the rebound?


Bitcoin has fallen below $64,000 following a wave of long liquidations.

The $63.2K zone is now the key test for Bitcoin’s short-term direction.

Technical signals remain mixed ahead of Fed minutes.

Bitcoin has slipped back below $64,000 after Monday’s rebound stalled near $64,500, as long liquidations and pre-Fed caution added pressure.

According to market data from CoinGecko, Bitcoin climbed back above $64,000 after recovering from Monday's selloff but failed to extend gains beyond roughly $64,529 before retreating toward the $63,200 area, where another wave of long liquidations accelerated the decline.

Earlier in the week, Bitcoin had dropped from nearly $64,000 to around $62,000 after an SEC filing showed that Strategy sold 3,588 BTC worth about $216 million (approx. Rs 60.4 billion) to fund dividend payments. 

The filing also disclosed that the company still has authorisation to sell another $1.3 billion (approx. Rs 349.5 billion) of Bitcoin, leaving traders cautious about additional supply entering the market.

Later in the session, Bitcoin recovered as futures demand returned. 

Data from Hyblock showed net futures buying rising to around $568 million (approx. Rs 158.8 billion), while spot buying reached about $143 million (approx. Rs 40 billion), the strongest cash-market support seen in several days.
