Can Bitcoin maintain momentum above $63K?Bitcoin’s latest rally pushed it to a two-week high above $63,000 over the weekend before cooling off.
According to market data from CoinGecko, Bitcoin briefly touched nearly $63,900 during the US holiday weekend before retreating toward $63,200 on Monday, holding on to most of its weekly gains after rising more than 5% over the past seven days.
The weekend advance was driven by a combination of weaker-than-expected US economic data, renewed demand through spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs), and a wave of short liquidations that accelerated the move higher.
Fresh optimism emerged after the US Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the economy added only 57,000 jobs in June, well below forecasts of 110,000.
The weaker labour report prompted traders to dial back expectations of further Federal Reserve tightening, easing pressure on Treasury yields while reducing the opportunity cost of holding assets such as Bitcoin.Supporting that view, CME Group's FedWatch Tool showed markets assigning nearly an 80% probability that the Federal Reserve will leave interest rates unchanged at its July meeting, while QCP Capital said softer inflation data would still be needed before markets could fully price in a more accommodative policy outlook.
The macro backdrop coincided with a heavily short-positioned derivatives market after Bitcoin spent much of June trading near the $58,000-$60,000 range.
Once the price reclaimed the psychologically important $62,000 level, short sellers were forced to close positions, triggering a rapid squeeze.
Market commentator Daan Crypto Trades described the move as a classic short squeeze, noting that prices climbed into a heavily shorted zone before forced covering intensified the rally.

That is a direct challenge to the current stablecoin order. Tether and Circle dominate today because $USDT and $USDC have liquidity, trust, integrations, and network effects. Open USD is trying to enter the market with partner distribution built in from day one.

Why This Is Different From Another Stablecoin Launch
Most new stablecoins face the same problem: no one needs them yet. Liquidity is thin, integrations are limited, and users already have familiar options.

Open USD is trying to attack that problem through partnership density. If a large group of businesses integrates the token into payments, trading, fintech apps, and crypto infrastructure, the stablecoin has a clearer path to usage than a token that simply launches and waits for adoption.

The economics are also part of the pitch. Stablecoin issuers usually make money from the yield on reserves backing their tokens. Open Standard’s model is designed to align more of that value with participating businesses, after operating costs.

South Korea’s Supreme Court has proposed new civil enforcement rules for digital assets that set out how cryptocurrencies can be seized, transferred and converted into cash during debt collection proceedings, with the measures scheduled to take effect on Oct. 1 after public consultation.

The draft sets out procedures for courts, creditors and virtual asset service providers to handle the seizure and liquidation of digital assets.



Public consultation will continue until Aug. 11, with the new civil enforcement rules scheduled to take effect on Oct. 1.








According to local media, the Supreme Court on July 2 published draft amendments to the Rules on Civil Execution to introduce formal procedures for enforcing claims against digital assets. Public comments will be accepted until Aug. 11 before the rules are finalized.



Draft rules define seizure and liquidation process



The proposal comes as cryptocurrency ownership and trading continue to increase in South Korea, bringing a growing number of cases in which digital assets become subject to civil enforcement. The amendments add digital assets to an enforcement system that has traditionally focused on property, bank accounts and other claims.



Under the draft, compulsory execution against a right to demand the transfer of digital assets would begin once a court issues a seizure order. Digital asset exchanges and other third parties holding the assets would be prohibited from transferring them to the debtor, while debtors themselves would also be barred from disposing of their transfer rights or receiving the assets.
