SK Hynix is expected to file with Korean financial regulators to advance its plan for a US American Depositary Receipt (ADR) listing. A group of senior Ethereum contributors has launched Ethlabs, a nonprofit research and development organization built to prepare the network for a new wave of institutional and artificial intelligence (AI)-driven activity.

The initiative is funded by a coalition led by Bitmine Immersion Technologies, Sharplink, Ethereum co-founder Joe Lubin, and other ecosystem backers, including Anchorage, Octant, and SNZ.

Ethlabs is designed to reinforce Ethereum’s core principles of credible neutrality, censorship resistance and security while helping the network scale for stablecoins, tokenized real-world assets, funds, decentralized finance and autonomous AI commerce.

The organization was co-founded by five former senior Ethereum Foundation researchers: Ansgar Dietrichs, Barnabé Monnot, Caspar Schwarz-Schilling, Josh Rudolf, and Julian Ma. Their past work spans finality, scaling, data availability, the Ethereum Virtual Machine ( EVM), and protocol economics.

Lighter down 11% as Spot volume drops 3x – Can LIT’s price recover?Lighter [$LIT] is down more than 11% in the past 24 hours when gauging its price movement from the day’s peak to the low. $LIT crashed from $1.663 to $1.4725 with daily sell volume increasing by 20%.

The decline follows a healthy price surge in the past two days. The two-day rally was equivalent to a 50% retracement from the most recent price range where the lower high is at $1.90 and a lower low is at $1.50.

Here is why the token is trading in a downtrend and if it can recover:

Blockworks reported that the number of Daily Active Traders has reduced by 50% over the past week. Numerically, this figure declined from 15,411 to 7,972 and seems to be continuing with this trend.

On the 17th of June, the Spot volume was at $1.738 billion but now trades at slightly above $531 million. This represents a more than 3x decrease over the same period.

Again, $LIT’s Spot volume hit a monthly low of $182 million the previous day. This is about 10x below the peak volume seen in the past week, indicating extremely low trading activity.

Combining all this data, the daily revenue has also been taking a hit, declining to $40K. Moreover, capital outflow is increasing, with about 30 trades resulting in $445.3K sell pressure.

CBOE eyes crypto perpetuals as Kalshi upends futures marketCBOE has begun evaluating a conversion of its Bitcoin and Ether futures into perpetual contracts after crypto perpetuals generated more than $8.5 billion in trading volume on Kalshi within weeks of launch.

According to a June 23 report from The Wall Street Journal, CBOE Global Markets is considering turning its continuous Bitcoin and Ether futures into perpetual futures following recent regulatory developments in the United States.

The report cited Rob Hocking, CBOE’s global head of derivatives, who said the exchange is exploring the possibility after the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission approved cryptocurrency perpetual futures for prediction market operator Kalshi.

While Hocking did not provide a timeline for any changes, the comments place one of the largest U.S. exchange operators among a growing list of firms responding to fresh competition in the perpetual futures market.

CBOE introduced its continuous Bitcoin and Ether futures contracts in December, offering products with expirations extending as far as 10 years.

According to The Wall Street Journal, the exchange is now studying whether perpetual contracts could provide an alternative structure following the CFTC’s decision to permit similar products on regulated U.S. venues.

Kalshi’s rapid growth has drawn attention from incumbent exchanges
