Bitcoin slips toward $63,000 as a tech selloff drags risk assets lowerBitcoin fell toward $63,000 on Tuesday, caught in a broad retreat from risk as investors pulled out of the technology stocks that have led markets all year.

The token traded around $63,640, down 0.9% over 24 hours and 3.3% on the week, per CoinDesk data, after touching about $65,076 on Monday and sliding through the session. The selling was marketwide. Ether fell 0.9% to $1,719 and is also down 3.3% on the week, XRP dropped 1.6% to $1.12 for a 9% weekly loss, solana lost 3.4% to $71 and dogecoin slid 6.6% over seven days.

Tron was the rare gainer, up 1.3% on the day and 4.6% on the week. Hyperliquid's HYPE fell 4.8% on the week.

The pressure came from outside crypto. A rotation out of this year's best-performing technology and chip shares sank global equities, with a gauge of Asian stocks falling more than 2% after a record close and South Korea's Kospi plunging more than 6% on fears that the rally in chipmakers had run too far.

S&P 500 futures fell 0.8% and Nasdaq 100 contracts dropped 1.3%, following a slide in megacap tech and rising bond yields that pulled US stocks lower on Monday. Brent crude edged below $78 a barrel and gold retreated.

That marks a shift in what is steering crypto. For weeks bitcoin moved on each twist of the Iran story. Now, with a peace roadmap in place and oil sliding, the dominant force is the same AI-driven tech trade that has carried equities to records, and crypto is falling as that trade wobbles.

The next test is memory chipmaker Micron's results on Wednesday, a read on whether AI spending can keep sustaining the rally that has lifted its shares more than 300% this year.

The crypto market fell on Tuesday, with bitcoin $BTC$62,194.91 trading at $62,300, having lost 2.5% since midnight UTC, while ether ($ETH) tumbled by more than 4% to $1,650.

The selloff follows Monday's downturn in technology stocks, with another day in the red foreshadowed by Nasdaq 100 futures, which have cratered by 2.5% since midnight.

Tech stocks are struggling due to profit-taking and the risk of higher bond yields, according to Patrick Munnelly, market strategy partner at TickMill.

Altcoins performed worse than bitcoin and ether, with tokens such as ethena (ENA) and hype (HYPE) losing 5%-6% and $717 million in liquidations across the market spurring exaggerated downswings.

The Dollar Index (DXY) rose to its highest level in more than a year, hitting 101.15, the most since May 2025.

Re7 Labs Opens $223K USDC Compensation Pool for USR Exploit VictimsDeFi risk curator Re7 Labs said this morning that wallets affected by the March exploit of Resolv Labs' USR stablecoin can claim a share of a 223,000 $USDC compensation pool. The makeup payment closes one of the smaller curator-side liabilities tied to the incident.

The pool covers users whose positions in Re7's Re7 $USDC Base vault on Base and Re7 $USDC Core Mainnet vault on Ethereum were caught by the exploit, per the announcement from Re7 Labs. Eligibility was snapshotted at the moment Re7 delisted the affected USR markets. Affected wallets can connect to the Merkl app to view and claim their pro-rata share.

Resolv Labs Attack
The compensation traces to a March 23 attack on Resolv Labs in which an attacker compromised the project's AWS-hosted key management service and minted 80 million USR using under $200,000 of collateral. The attacker swapped the unbacked tokens through staked variants into $USDC and then Ether, walking away with roughly $23 million in ETH. USR depegged from $1 to a low of around $0.20, and CoinGecko data shows the token still trading well below par.

Re7's role
Re7 Labs curates lending vaults on Morpho Blue, Euler and other venues, setting collateral parameters and listing assets rather than issuing tokens of its own. Re7's flagship mRe7YIELD strategy had no USR exposure. Two of its smaller curated vaults on Morpho, Re7 $USDC Base and Re7 $USDC Core Mainnet, had listed USR as collateral and were drawn into the exploit. The curator currently shows $92.5 million in TVL across 14 vaults per DefiLlama.

Treasury Sanctions Three Individuals and Six Entities for Routing Crypto to ISIS


The U.S. Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control designated three individuals and six entities on June 22 for facilitating financial transactions on behalf of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, targeting a network that used money service businesses and cryptocurrency to move ISIS funds across Europe, the Middle East, and West Africa.

The action covers a Syria-based bitcoin exchange, two Turkish money services firms, three Nigerian currency bureaus, and the individuals who own or operate them. OFAC identified two TRON blockchain addresses linked to a French national designated for conducting transactions with ISIS affiliates and providing explosives-related instructions to ISIS supporters.

Bitcoin Xchange's Syria-to-Europe Pipeline

Abdelhakim Boukich, a former Dutch national now based in Syria, was designated for establishing and directing Bitcoin Xchange, a Syria-based money service business. According to the Treasury press release, Boukich and Bitcoin Xchange transferred money on behalf of ISIS associates from multiple countries, including Norway, Belgium, the Netherlands, South Africa, and the United States. The SDN listing notes Boukich is also known as "Abu Sulayman Alholandi" and "Muhammad Babili."

Two Turkish MSBs, Spider Gayrimenkul Ve Genel Ticaret Limited Sirketi and Alkaram Danismanlik Gayrimenkul Ic Ve Dis Genel Ticaret Limited Sirketi, were also designated. Both are owned and controlled by Mohamad Alhmidan, previously designated by OFAC for facilitating logistical and financial support for ISIS and helping foreign terrorist fighters. Spider originated as a hawala operating in Syria, transferring money from ISIS-controlled territory to other regions; Alkaram operates as a front for Spider.

At the time of writing, Bitcoin’s adjusted SOPR was still struggling around the key level of 1. Going above 1 usually means investors are selling coins at a profit while a move below 1 means losses are still being realized.On the charts though, there seemed to be no confirmation.
