Will The XRP Price Crash Further From Here? Major Levels To Watch



The $XRP price structure is not giving a clear bullish signal, and there are questions as to whether the current range will hold up and whether there’s going to be another leg down.

Crypto analyst Hov, who has been tracking $XRP’s structure on the weekly timeframe, laid out a detailed Elliott Wave count on X that identifies exactly where the price stands and what it needs to do in the coming sessions to avoid a more serious breakdown.

$XRP Wave Structure Is Sending A Warning Signal

Crypto analyst Hov pointed out that the $XRP price action coming off the recent lows lacks the kind of impulsive strength traders look for when a reversal is going on.

Hov’s chart, drawn on the weekly timeframe, traces out an expansive Elliott Wave sequence beginning from $XRP’s 2018 cycle top through the corrective lows of 2019/2020, recovering across the 2021 bull cycle, and extending into the current setup.

What the analyst observed is interesting: the $XRP price action from the recent swing low is printing a series of threes, not a clean five-wave impulsive structure. In Elliott Wave theory, a sequence of three-wave moves is corrective by nature. It implies that the dominant trend may not have fully reversed and that price could still be responding to a larger downward cycle.

The expectation earlier was that $XRP would push into a fifth wave off the lows to confirm bullish intent. That move has not materialized. As long as the price structure is corrective, then there are risks of continuation to the downside.

The Crypto Fear & Greed Index is sitting at 11. The Altcoin Season Index at 38, firmly in Bitcoin Season territory. And the crypto community is more divided than it has been all year.

On one side: “Most altcoins will die,” wrote Altcoin Daily today, a sentiment also echoed by Ash Crypto, who put it plainly – altcoins have been in a bear market since 2021.

On the other: trader Kazi is warning his followers that when alt season finally arrives, “it’s going to be like nothing you’ve EVER seen before.”

Who is right about this? Both camps have data. That’s what makes this interesting.

40% of Altcoins Are Near All-Time Lows

The numbers behind the bearish case are hard to dismiss. More than 36 million tokens now exist. Around 40% of altcoins are trading at or near all-time lows – worse than the reading recorded after the FTX collapse.

Selling pressure on altcoins has reached a cumulative $209 billion over the past 13 months, with no meaningful reversal.

Here’s something even more striking: the Fear & Greed Index has now been in Extreme Fear for 76 consecutive days – the longest such streak since the FTX collapse.

The market reaction was immediate, with many viewing the move as a key milestone in integrating crypto into traditional brokerage platforms. In simple terms, brokerage platforms will now integrate crypto directly into the same investment ecosystem investors use for stocks, ETFs, and long-term portfolio management.

Naturally, the impact on Bitcoin and Ethereum could be substantial, especially considering Charles Schwab manages nearly $12 trillion in client assets. This raises a broader question – With SoFi Bank and Charles Schwab stepping into crypto, is “FOMO” now acting as the real bridge between TradFi and DeFi, signaling the second phase of DeFi expansion?

Riot Platforms Sells 3,778 Bitcoin Amid Rising Miner Pressure

Riot's sales are part of a broader pattern of Bitcoin liquidations among miners and crypto firms

Bitcoin miner Riot Platforms sold 3,778 Bitcoin during the first quarter of 2026, generating $289.5 million at an average sale price of $76,626, according to the company's Q1 operational update released Thursday. The miner produced 1,473 Bitcoin during the quarter and held 15,680 Bitcoin on its balance sheet at the end of March.

Blockchain intelligence platform Arkham separately flagged a 500 Bitcoin outflow from a wallet it attributed to Riot on Thursday, suggesting additional selling activity beyond the Q1 disclosure. Bitcoin was trading at approximately $66,867 at the time of the report.

Riot's sales are part of a broader pattern of Bitcoin liquidations among miners and crypto firms. In the past week alone, MARA Holdings, Genius Group and Nakamoto Holdings collectively sold 15,501 Bitcoin, with MARA accounting for the largest portion of that total.

Kadan Stadelmann, blockchain developer and co-founder of AI company Compance, attributed the selling wave to rising energy costs tied to the ongoing Middle East conflict. "Miners are selling off Bitcoin due to increasing energy costs, highlighted by the ongoing oil price shock, which represents one of the main costs of mining Bitcoin," he said. "As energy costs rise, the miners are forced to sell off their Bitcoin in an attempt to cover their operational costs."

The pressure has pushed less efficient miners offline, reducing overall network activity. Bitcoin mining difficulty dropped from around 145 trillion to 133 trillion on March 20, while the hash rate fell from 1,160 exahash at the start of the month to roughly 990 exahash as of Friday, according to CoinWarz.
