‘Launch is soon’ – Bitwise updates Spot HYPE ETF filing, rally next?

Hyperliquid could soon gain an extra investor base as its U.S Spot HYPE ETF debut looks imminent. 

According to Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas, Bitwise updated its Spot HYPE ETF filing, including a ticker BHYP and a fee 0.67%. Per Balchunas, such updates “typically mean a launch is soon,” adding that, 

HYPE is up 200% in the past year, so they’re probably trying to strike while iron hot

Bitwise first filed for the product in September 2025. A month later, 21Shares followed suit and made a similar application.

In March 2026,

Grayscale joined the fray, bringing the total number of issuers to three. Both Bitwise and Grayscale plan to include a HYPE staking feature in the future. 

If approved, HYPE will join BTC, Ethereum [ETH], and Solana [SOL] as top crypto assets that enjoy massive interest from treasury firms and ETF investors.

In another development, Hyperliquid is testing a feature that would allow traders who want faster execution to pay a little fee (priority fees) for HIP-3 trades (oil, gold, and other non-crypto assets). 

This would be a welcome update that is already live on most Solana apps like Jupiter [JUP], which grants the most advanced traders and firms priority order execution.

This became a game-changer, reducing the infamous Solana network congestion. In return, the charged priority fees, paid in SOL, are shared with validators.

At the center of the pilots is Ripple Payments, which replaces the traditional correspondent banking model used by SWIFT.

Instead of routing payments through multiple intermediaries and relying on pre-funded accounts, ODL converts fiat into $XRP. Then it sends it across the $XRP Ledger within seconds and converts it back to the destination currency.

Banks participating in the pilots confirmed that removing intermediaries and idle capital requirements led to a 60% reduction in transaction costs. Settlement times also dropped dramatically from one to five business days under SWIFT to just a few seconds using $XRP.

Expansion Across Asia Gains Traction

Ripple used the conference to expand its network with 12 new currency pairs, targeting Southeast Asia’s fast-growing remittance corridors.

В пятницу компании Dynamix и Ether Machine объявили о прекращении ранее запланированного слияния, сославшись на неблагоприятные рыночные условия.

Согласно соглашению о прекращении, вступившему в силу 8 апреля, неназванный «плательщик», потенциально связанный с Ether Machine, должен был выплатить Dynamix 50 миллионов долларов в течение 15 дней.

According to HKMA’s website, two entities have now become registered stablecoin issuers in Hong Kong: Anchorpoint Financial Limited and The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited.

Hong Kong launched its stablecoin bill called the Stablecoins Ordinance back in August 2025, establishing a licensing regime for stablecoin issuers. Under this law, parties interested in issuing fiat-tied cryptocurrencies in the Chinese city have to first obtain a license from the HKMA.

Major names quickly lined up to apply for a license. This included HSBC and Anchorpoint Financial Limited. The latter is a joint venture (JV) created by Standard Chartered, Animoca Brands, and Hong Kong Telecom. In total, the HKMA ended up receiving applications from 36 entities. Despite the high interest, though, Eddie Yue, the financial regulator’s chief executive, said in February that a “very small number” of licenses would be granted in the first wave.

Yue also said that these licenses would arrive in March, but in the end, no licenses were issued during that month, suggesting a delay from the HKMA. However, today, on April 10th, the first batch has finally gone out.

With just two licenses being handed out, Yue indeed set up the correct expectations. As mentioned earlier, Standard Chartered’s JV and HSBC are the applicants who have received the first approval. Thus, these banks have a head start over the rest when it comes to stablecoins in the region.
