According to Alden, the current fiat currency system, due to its debt-based structure, must either grow or die. He argues that governments and large corporations are “shorting” the system by exploiting its loopholes, while ordinary citizens are on the losing side of this game.

“The wealthy and institutions are shorting money by borrowing at low interest rates and buying scarce assets. The poorest, unable to borrow, are bearing the brunt of inflation as their salaries and savings erode.”

In the section on Bitcoin, Alden describes the historical development of money as an evolution of a “ledger.” He lists the advantages offered by Bitcoin’s digital and decentralized structure in contrast to the physical limitations of gold and silver as follows:

Zero Supply Increase: In a world where emerging market currencies have increased by 20%, developed market currencies by 7%, and gold by 2%, Bitcoin is the only asset that will not experience further supply increases beyond a certain point.

Decentralized Trust: Alden reminds us that Bitcoin is not governed by a “council” or “policymaker,” and the rule set is distributed among all users, stating that no one can “debase” the system (empty the value from the currency) for their own benefit.

Bitcoin market data is beginning to resemble conditions typically seen during bear markets, according to recent analysis from CryptoQuant. The distribution of Bitcoin supply in profit and loss is moving closer to levels observed in previous cycle bottoms.

Currently, around 11.2 million Bitcoin are still in profit, while approximately 8.2 million Bitcoin are in a loss position. Although this shows increasing pressure in the market, it is still below the levels seen during the 2022 bear market, when more than 10 million Bitcoin were at a loss.

This shift suggests that the market may be approaching a zone of undervaluation similar to past bear cycles. Historically, such conditions have often appeared near long-term bottoms, attracting accumulation from experienced investors.

However, not all analysts agree that this indicates an immediate bottom. Some experts argue that the data reflects growing market stress rather than full capitulation. In previous bear market lows, losses were more widespread and extreme, with over half of the supply in loss.

In addition, Bitcoin has declined around 50% from its all-time high in this cycle, which is less severe compared to past cycles that saw drops of up to 80%. This could mean the current cycle is structurally different and may take longer to fully reset.

A recent example came from EGRAG CRYPTO, a popular analyst on social media, who argued that Ripple’s native token could skyrocket to $8 by January 1, 2027, and all the way up to $27 in August of the same year. They based their analysis on the long-term Fibonacci extensions, and the higher price targets come from Fib 2.236 and 2.414. But, is there any merit?

Is it just me or does $0G feel like it’s baiting everyone into a short right before a massive squeeze? Look at that rejection from 0.8736. It was sharp, but the price isn’t exactly tanking back to the 0.74 lows. It’s actually holding a higher floor around the 0.82 area. The volume on that run-up was decent, and we’re seeing some consolidation here. Usually, when it refuses to drop after a wick like that, it's just reloading. I’m watching the 0.80 level closely.
