According to data from Alphractal, wallets holding more than 1,000 $BTC absorbed around 270,000 $BTC in the last 30 days. That’s equal to nearly 1.4% of total supply!

Exchange reserves have also dropped to 2.21 million $BTC, or 5.88% of circulating supply. That’s the lowest in 8 years!

At the time of writing, whale vs retail delta indicated stronger whale activity, while retail stayed behind. Now, this doesn’t mean a breakout is immediate. However, it is safe to assume that larger holders may be using this calm to build positions.

Bitcoin is pushing into a key resistance zone after its strongest daily close in three months.

However, $BTC still needs a clean breakout above trendline resistance and RSI pressure to confirm stronger momentum.

Bitcoin traded near $80,470 on the 1 day BTCUSDT perpetual chart shared by Elja. The chart shows $BTC recovering from its February low, but price has not confirmed a breakout above the rising resistance line.

$BTC moved from the lower $60,000 area toward the $80,000 zone during the recent recovery. However, the latest candle sits near the trendline, where Bitcoin still needs a clean daily close above resistance.

The RSI also shows pressure near the upper resistance zone. It stood around 66.91, while the red resistance area sits near the 70 level. That means momentum has improved, but it has not entered a clear breakout phase yet.

Elja said Bitcoin is still struggling against RSI resistance. The chart supports that view because the RSI has tested the same upper zone several times without a strong move above it.

This setup matters because price and RSI are both near key resistance areas. If Bitcoin breaks above the trendline while RSI moves above the red zone, buyers would get stronger confirmation.

For now, the chart shows Bitcoin in a recovery phase, not a confirmed breakout. $BTC needs stronger momentum above both price resistance and RSI resistance to change the structure. In an X post, Max stated that there has never been a bear market where Bitcoin printed more than two consecutive monthly candles. He noted that $BTC closed March and April in the green, with gains of 2% and 12%, respectively. As such, the analyst remarked that this month is likely to close red unless this cycle is different from every previous one.

Max also mentioned that further downside remains, given the higher probability that May is a historically weak month and a large amount of liquidity is sitting below. However, it is worth noting that Bitcoin is already up almost 6% this month, rising to a multi-month high of $81,000 today. This has provided optimism that the bull market may be back with $BTC targeting new highs



The analyst commented on the current Bitcoin price action, indicating that it is still bearish despite the recent rally. He noted that on the first two attempts to break above the $79,000 resistance, a clear rejection followed. Now, on this third attempt, price has managed to break above but quickly lost momentum and closed back below the resistance.
