Trading Volume Rebounds Sharply
According to CoinMarketCap data, SHIB’s spot trading volume has risen by roughly 50%, reaching about $127 million. This marks a clear shift from the previous week, when activity had been steadily declining.
In derivatives markets, momentum appears even stronger, with volume surging over 102% to approximately $161 million, signaling increased speculative participation.
Open interest also rose by 3.12% to around $62 million, suggesting traders are positioning for short-term price movement rather than long-term accumulation.
Price Still Stuck in a Key Range
Despite the recovery in activity, SHIB remains technically range-bound:

At the same time, broader crypto markets have seen volatility driven by short squeezes, with hundreds of millions in liquidations recently as risk assets rallied and forced out bearish positions.

SHIB’s current structure reflects a consolidation phase: rising activity and improving sentiment, but still no confirmed breakout above key resistance.

Nouriel Roubini, also known as “Doctor Doom” for its constant pessimistic predictions about the course of the world economy, has turned bullish in this regard and is now expecting AI to become one of the key drivers of growth. This new era of growth, supported by several drivers, including IA and semiconductors, will principally benefit the U.S. and China, the main innovators in these fields.

Tether has launched tether.wallet, a self-custodial app aimed at bringing its financial infrastructure directly to end users.

The wallet supports USDT, USAT, Tether Gold, and bitcoin.

Tether, issuer of the world’s largest stablecoin USDT, is stepping further out from behind the rails with the launch of its self-custodial wallet, which it says is designed to put its payments infrastructure directly in the hands of users, rather than operating solely as a backend layer for crypto markets.

The application, dubbed tether.wallet, targets "billions of users left behind by the traditional financial system," the firm said in a Tuesday announcement.

Tether stated that it also builds on a network that already reaches more than 570 million people globally.

Until now, that infrastructure has largely powered liquidity, settlement, and payments across crypto rather than serving as a direct consumer product.

The wallet focuses on a narrow set of assets. It supports digital dollars via USDT and USAT, tokenized gold through XAUT, and bitcoin BTC+5.59%

 — a mix Tether says reflects "the only assets that truly matter for most of the people."

Moreover, the product also strips out several long-standing friction points in crypto.

Users can send funds using human-readable identifiers, instead of wallet addresses. Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino said the aim is to make digital asset transfers "as easily as sending a message," without intermediaries or loss of custody.

Transaction fees can be paid directly in the asset being transferred, removing the need for separate gas tokens.
