US government moves bitcoin possibly linked to steroid distribution conspiracy
The U.S. government transferred a little over two bitcoins to a Coinbase Prime address on Friday. 

Arkham Intelligence previously associated the coins with Glenn Olivio, who appears to have been indicted in 2025 on charges related to an alleged steroid distribution conspiracy.

The U.S. government has transferred funds in bitcoin, thought to be seized from Glenn Olivio, to a Coinbase Prime address, according to Arkham Intelligence data.

In two separate transactions, two addresses labeled U.S. Government: Glenn Olivio Seized Funds moved  2.438 BTC — worth roughly $177,000 — to the same Coinbase address, beginning 3EMqu. 

It is not uncommon for the U.S. government to consolidate, custody or transfer funds seized during investigations. In the past month, government-linked accounts have moved funds associated with Ross Ulbricht, the pardoned founder of the Silk Road dark market site, and Chen Zhi, a Cambodian national allegedly associated with a pig butchering scheme. 

Last month, the U.S. government moved roughly $23,000 worth of bitcoin from a wallet associated with “Miguel Villanueva.” 

Notably, the transactions come over a year after President Donald Trump signed an executive order establishing a strategic bitcoin reserve, which included the mandate to hold onto bitcoin gained through criminal forfeitures.

In January, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent publicly confirmed that the administration has halted all sales of seized bitcoin and is instead adding it to the SBR. This came after public scrutiny of the government sending funds associated with the Samourai Wallet case to a Coinbase Prime address, raising questions about the size of the reserve and the government's commitment to maintaining it.

The bullishness surrounding the Ethereum price has not waned despite its disappointing performance over the last few years. Investors and analysts alike continue to skew heavily toward the expectation that the altcoin’s price will rise. Crypto analyst Leshka.eth shared their own prediction recently, forecasting that the Ethereum price is destined to hit new all-time highs in 2026.

Why The Ethereum Price Could Rally 400%
In the analysis, Leshka.eth points out a pattern that had previously appeared on the Ethereum price and led to an explosive rally. The pattern, which the analyst points out on the ETH/BTC chart, first began back in 2016, beginning with a long consolidation of the Ethereum price at lower levels.

Once the Ethereum price had broken out of the consolidation trend, it entered into what ended up being an accumulation trend. This accumulation saw the price ping-pong up and down over time, before it eventually hit a low. This then led to the last part of the pattern, which is the rally stage. By the time the Ethereum price was done rallying in the 2017 bull market, the price had risen by more than 1,500%. This pushed it up from $56 for it to peak at $1,151.

Now, this same pattern has been flagged by the crypto analyst, but on a much larger scale. Where the last consolidation trend had lasted for months, this one has lasted for years, starting in 2018 and then ending in 2021. Then the next stage of accumulation has lasted for years, from 2021 to 2026.

Given the longer timeframe that each portion of the pattern has taken this time around, the crypto analyst believes that this would lead to a more explosive run. Ether is also supported by a key macro indicator that places the altcoin in a rare undervaluation zone not seen since 2022. The data points to fading selling pressure and the early stages of an accumulation process for Ether.

Ether's daily chart shows bulls leading the charge after a 6.33% rally pushed the price above the $2,150 resistance. ETH now eyes a retest of its March highs near $2,385, with further upside toward the $2,475-$2,635 fair-value gap acting as a price magnet for bulls.

Repeat retests of $2,150 over the past two months suggest weakening resistance, as buyers continue stepping in at higher levels.

What does CoreWeave’s $8.5 billion GPU-backed loan mean for Bitcoin mining?

CoreWeave, a public Bitcoin miner that ditched Bitcoin for an AI venture, is winning big. According to Blocksbridge Consulting, CoreWeave’s successful $8.5 billion GPU-backed loan has confirmed the AI boom or ‘ComputeFi’  and, by extension, the death of ‘MinerFi.’ 

The research examined the 2021 Bitcoin mining boom, which collapsed hard as BTC’s price fell while hashrate (computation power and number of miners) surged.

At the end of the 2021 cycle, the resale value of old ASICs (rigs used to mine BTC) fell and the BTC price crash exacerbated the situation. 

In contrast, the newer mining hardware, which includes Nvidia’s GPU (general processing units) could easily be repurposed for other things. Especially as AI’s demands for data processing and power balloon. 

As a result, most miners with the latest hardware during the current cycle have either partially or wholly pivoted to AI with ease.

Others like MARA have been forced to liquidate their BTC holdings to fund these pivots. However, players such as CoreWeave have opted for GPU-backed loans, which use the computing racks as collateral. 

In fact, CoreWeave’s $8.5 billion is unprecedented because it is the largest loan facility ever to be made using the computing racks as collateral in the sector. 

And the ‘ComputeFi’ upside doesn’t stop at expanded funding capacity either

Bitcoin Surges To $72,000, But Remains Stuck In Key Supply Zone


On-chain data shows Bitcoin has been trading inside a major cost-basis cluster recently, and the latest rally hasn’t taken it past the range either.

Bitcoin URPD Shows Significant Supply Has Cost Basis Near Current Levels

In a new post on X, analyst Ali Martinez has discussed the latest data for the UTXO Realized Price Distribution (URPD) of Bitcoin. This on-chain indicator tells us about the amount of $BTC that was last purchased at the various price levels visited by the cryptocurrency in its history.

Below is the chart shared by Martinez that shows how the URPD of Bitcoin is looking right now.

As is visible in the graph, there are some levels near to the current spot price with a notable amount of supply last purchased according to the URPD. Naturally, the investors holding coins with a cost basis at one of these levels below the latest price would be in some profit right now, while those above would be underwater.

However, the latest price surge has meant that the majority of investors inside this cluster are now in the green. From the chart, it’s visible that this supply zone sits between $63,100 and $73,200. Following the rally back above $72,000, $BTC has climbed toward the end of this range, but hasn’t yet exited it.

Generally, investors who are in loss tend to react to a retest of their cost basis by selling, as they may fear going back underwater. Profitable hands, on the other hand, may accumulate more at their cost basis to defend it.

The European Central Bank (ECB) has reportedly endorsed the European Union’s (EU) plan to shift oversight of key financial markets, including crypto, from national authorities to a centralized supervisory authority.

On Friday, the European Central Bank backed the EU’s proposal to integrate the bloc’s capital market through a centralized entity, seeking to boost the region’s competitiveness and harmonize regulation, Reuters reported.

The financial regulator expressed its full support for enhanced EU-level oversight of systemically important, cross-border financial market participants, including major trading platforms, central counterparties, central securities depositories, and crypto asset service providers (CASPs).

“The ECB fully supports the ‌Commission ⁠proposals, which constitute an ambitious step towards deeper integration of capital markets and financial market supervision within the Union,” it said in an opinion. It’s worth noting that the opinion is required by the Commission’s legislative process, but is not binding for lawmakers.

The plan, led by France and Germany, was initially suggested during the development of the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA). It proposes transferring the power to authorize new businesses and supervise all crypto asset service providers to the bloc’s market watchdog, the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA).

In October, ESMA’s Chair, Verena Ross, disclosed that the EU’s executive branch was in the process of formulating regulations to grant enhanced authority to the regional regulatory authority and push for a “more integrated and globally competitive” capital market within Europe.
