Ethereum’s recent period of consolidation may be doing more than simply slowing price action. After a strong rally, ETH has entered a range-bound structure where buyers and sellers continue to battle for control, allowing the market to absorb gains and establish new support levels. Similar periods of consolidation have often preceded significant directional moves, particularly when accompanied by improving market sentiment and growing institutional participation.

How Consolidation Often Precedes Expansion In Ethereum Cycles
Ethereum’s recent pullback is being interpreted as a necessary reset within a larger cycle. Crypto analyst Rios noted on X that ETH’s nearly 19% drop could be a cycle reset that helps clear out excessive weak market positioning before a stronger move higher.

Historically, sharp corrections have often occurred during broader uptrends, serving as periods where the market recalibrates before momentum returns into ETH aggressively. At the same time, long-term holders have reportedly maintained their accumulation while interest surrounding spot ETF developments and on-chain network activity remains resilient.

According to Rios, these factors suggest that investor conviction has not materially weakened despite the recent volatility. This move is more like the end of a trend reversal than a volatility reset within a larger bullish structure. However, if the ETH price stabilizes in this region, the next recovery phase could pave the way for a stronger upside momentum than expected.

Taylor Budowich’s role gives the group a direct link to Republican political circles. Budowich most recently served as deputy White House chief of staff under Susie Wiles, according to Kalshi’s announcement.

Why is demand rising on Centrifuge?

Data from Centrifuge suggested demand growth continued outpacing capital inflows.

Total Asset Holders rose 1.7% this week to 801,499. At the same time, Total Stablecoin Holders climbed 1.4% to around 256.61 million.

The total number of CFG holders also reached a record 10,150, while Total Unique Addresses stood at 23,008 at press time.

On the other hand, Distributed Asset Value increased only 1% to $34.02 billion. Total Stablecoin Value gained just 0.1% to $305.27 billion

This gap between holder growth and asset value suggested user demand remained ahead of capital expansion. That trend also hinted that tokenized assets were gradually integrating into platforms that users already transact on.

$0.250 on Monday after falling by more than 15% over the past two weeks. Weakening derivatives metrics, alongside a deteriorating technical outlook, suggest the correction could extend further.

Derivatives traders turn bearish
Cardano’s derivatives data supports a bearish bias. CoinGlass funding rates turned negative on Sunday, reading -0.0078% on Monday. These negative rates indicate that longs are paying shorts, suggesting bearish sentiment.

In addition, Coinglass’s long-to-short ratio for $ADA reads 0.65 on Monday, nearing the lowest level over a month. The ratio being below one, indicates bearish sentiment, as traders are betting the asset’s price will fall.

Cardano Price Forecast: Bears in control of momentum
Cardano price trades below $0.250 on Monday, maintaining a bearish near-term tone as it remains below the 50-day, 100-day, and 200-day Exponential Moving Averages (EMAs), clustered between roughly $0.256 and $0.350.

The failed break of the downward resistance trendline, with its break reference near $0.268 still overhead, reinforces a capped structure, while the Relative Strength Index (RSI) on the daily chart slipping toward the high-30s and the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) remaining in negative territory both suggest weakening momentum rather than an imminent recovery.

On the topside, initial resistance emerges at the horizontal barrier around $0.245, ahead of the 50-day EMA near $0.256 and the trendline break zone at $0.268, with the 23.6% Fibonacci retracement at $0.271 and the 100-day EMA at $0.276 adding to a dense supply band above current levels.

On the downside, immediate support is seen at the horizontal level around $0.236; a clear break below this
