Blockchain markets continued attracting stronger institutional and retail participation as tokenized assets and stablecoin activity expanded globally.
Tokenized equities had already started gaining broader traction before Solana strengthened its lead across on-chain stock ownership markets recently.

Retail participation also accelerated once lower fees and faster settlement reduced barriers to global equity access.

Solana tokenized stockholders later climbed toward roughly 192,100 wallets, representing nearly 64% of total cross-chain participation overall. Growth also accelerated sharply after November 2025 before reaching fresh highs into May 2026 beneath expanding adoption conditions.
Meanwhile, BNB Chain remained near roughly 63,200 holders, while Ethereum [ETH] stayed closer toward 36,800 beneath slower network activity. That widening lead increasingly reflected how users prefer faster execution and cheaper transfers during active trading conditions.

However, tokenized equities still represent a very small share of broader traditional financial markets worldwide.

If adoption continues rising steadily, Solana may strengthen its role as a growing gateway for tokenized real-world financial assets.

This latest rulemaking follows an earlier FDIC proposal from April 2026, which established prudential standards for PPSls covering reserve assets, redemption, capital, and risk management. Under the new parallel FinCEN-OFAC proposed rule, PPSIs would formally be classified as financial institutions under the BSA, requiring them to adopt full AML programs and OFAC-aligned sanctions compliance structures, including internal controls, a designated compliance officer, staff training, independent testing, customer identification, suspicious activity reporting, and on-chain transaction screening capabilities. In terms of supervision and enforcement, the proposed rule would require the FDIC to notify the FinCEN director at least 30 days before initiating any formal enforcement action or significant supervisory determination related to a PPSI's AML/CFT program. Bitcoin and Ethereum ETF outflows have accelerated, with institutional investors pulling nearly $2.7 billion from spot Bitcoin and Ethereum exchange-traded funds over the past two weeks.

However, rather than signaling a broad exit from digital assets, market data reveal a historic divergence, with these allocators simultaneously rotating into newly launched alternative cryptocurrency funds like Solana, Hyperliquid, and XRP.

The structural shift highlights a maturing market where digital assets are no longer traded as a monolith. That makes the current move a crypto ETF rotation rather than a uniform retreat from regulated digital asset exposure.

Flagship cryptocurrencies like BTC and ETH are facing intense macroeconomic headwinds, while smaller ecosystems are attracting bids based on network-specific fundamentals and regulatory developments.

The pace of institutional redemptions from the two largest digital assets has accelerated sharply in recent weeks.

For context, data compiled by SoSoValue show that US spot Bitcoin ETF outflows reached roughly $1.26 billion in cumulative net redemptions last week alone. That represents the heaviest weekly drain since late January.

Combined with the previous week's figures, spot Bitcoin funds have shed more than $2.26 billion in just 14 days, pushing the category's total assets under management below the $100 billion threshold.

Ethereum ETF outflows show a similarly sustained exodus. The nine funds tracking the second-largest cryptocurrency posted $471 million in combined outflows across the past two weeks.

This extends their losing streak to 10 consecutive sessions, marking the category's most sustained period of outflows since March 2025.
