1. What Is Velodrome Finance? Velodrome Finance is decentralized trading and liquidity infrastructure for the Superchain ecosystem, initially deployed on the Optimism network. Through automated market-making, liquidity incentives, and a token-voting mechanism, it connects traders, liquidity providers, and protocols seeking liquidity, and has progressively expanded into products such as cross-chain swaps, concentrated liquidity, and no-code token issuance. 2. How Does Velodrome Finance Work? Liquidity providers deposit assets into stablecoin pools, volatile asset pools, or Slipstream concentrated liquidity pools and earn VELO emission incentives. VELO can be locked into veVELO; veVELO holders vote weekly to determine the emissions each liquidity pool receives and claim the trading fees and external incentives generated by the pools they vote for. The protocol updates voting and emissions on a seven-day cycle. Superswaps are used to find swap routes across connected networks, while the Velo Launcher provides tooling for projects to create and bootstrap liquidity. 3. Who Founded Velodrome Finance? Velodrome's protocol governance and ecosystem maintenance are advanced collaboratively by the community, the Velodrome Foundation, and the core developer Dromos Labs. The Velodrome Foundation handles neutral governance and ecosystem management, while Dromos Labs handles primary protocol development. Velodrome launched as a public good, without accepting VC funding and without conducting a token sale. 4. Velodrome Finance Tokenomics VELO had an initial supply of 400 million tokens, with an initial allocation of: Community 60%, Partner Protocols 24%, Foundation 10%, Network Ecosystem 5%, and Initial Liquidity 1%. VELO uses a continuous emission mechanism, so the total supply increases with emissions; the initial weekly emission after the V2 reset was 15 million tokens, decaying weekly per the rules. Users can lock VELO to receive veVELO; the longer the lock period, the higher the initial voting power, which gradually decays as expiration approaches. 5.
