In July 2026, the total trading volume on the Kalshi and Polymarket platforms reached $50.6 billion — an increase of 7.7% compared to the previous month. This is according to data from The Block's dashboard.
It is noteworthy that the share of trading volume accounted for by the global platform Polymarket decreased — by 26% compared to June. At the same time, the figures for Polymarket US increased.
This may be due to the fact that the waitlist authorization system was abolished on the American platform in May 2026. Thanks to this, users from the United States gained open access to the platform.
Recall that the global version of Polymarket remains blocked in the US, despite the company's efforts to reverse this decision. Polymarket US is a regulated contract market (DCM) that primarily offers bets on sporting events.
The share of Kalshi, in turn, increased by 14%, to $37.7 billion. This may be due to the offering of new products on the platform, as well as general changes in the regulatory environment.
By category, Kalshi leads in sports and exotic markets. These include bets on a basket of events. Meanwhile, politics remains a low-demand area on the platform.
Another possible reason for the surge in activity in July is the FIFA World Cup, which took place from June 11 to July 19. The volume of bets on the final match on Kalshi and Polymarket reached $1.9 billion and $4 billion, respectively.
