Исследователи Halborn отметили, что в августе 2025 года сеть Qubic применила мощности своего майнинг-пула для атаки на Monero, пытаясь контролировать более половины хешрейта сети. По данным компании, атака включала шестиблочную реорганизацию блокчейна и исключение около 60 блоков из цепочки. Это событие стало одним из редких случаев, когда подобная угроза затронула крупный и устойчивый протокол.

Эксперты пояснили, что 51%-атака позволяет злоумышленникам переписывать историю блокчейна, проводить двойные траты и цензурировать транзакции. Однако подделка чужих переводов невозможна без доступа к приватным ключам. В Qubic использовал уникальный подход: их майнеры выполняли полезные вычисления, которые в июне 2025 года были перенаправлены на добычу Monero. Это дало сети возможность получать вознаграждения за майнинг и одновременно создавать угрозу протоколу.

В Halborn подчеркнули, что хотя реорганизация блоков действительно произошла, это не стопроцентное доказательство успешной 51%-атаки. Контроль над значительной долей хешрейта в сочетании с удачей мог позволить Qubic быстрее создавать блоки, чем остальная сеть. Тем не менее результат показал, что угроза была реальной.

После атаки на инфраструктуру Qubic был направлен DDoS-удар, который снизил ее хешрейт и нарушил координацию майнеров. Это ослабило способность сети продолжать атаки и временно отвело угрозу от Monero.

Исторически такие атаки проводились против небольших блокчейнов с низким хешрейтом, где захват большинства мощностей был дешевле. Случай с Monero, по мнению Halborn, демонстрирует, что при достаточных ресурсах атаковать можно даже крупные цепочки. Это переводит проблему из разряда теоретических рисков в степень практических угроз.

A concurrent weakening of the KRW also contributed to the trading spike, independent of the fee waiver. The analysis suggests that once the promotion ends, Upbit is unlikely to retain its temporary gains unless it matches Coinone's permanent zero-fee policy, forcing a choice between market share and fee revenue. Upbit's strategic push may be less about immediate profit and more about preparing for future regulatory shifts. With South Korea's *Digital Asset Basic Act* on the horizon, which will regulate KRW-backed stablecoins, and following Dunamu's (Upbit's parent) integration into Naver Financial to build a payment ecosystem, securing a dominant position in the dollar stablecoin distribution channel holds long-term strategic value. However, potential regulatory conflicts could prevent Upbit from listing a future Naver-issued KRW stablecoin, making the current fight for dollar stablecoin flow even more critical.
