Ранее Армстронг заявлял, что Coinbase готова сотрудничать как с администрацией Камалы Харрис, так и с администрацией Трампа.

После выборов 6 ноября Трамп представил ряд кандидатов для своей администрации, а также пригрозил обойти утверждение Сената для ускорения назначений. Пока неясно, кого он намерен номинировать вместо действующего главы Комиссии по ценным бумагам и биржам (SEC) Гэри Генслера, которого Трамп обещал уволить «в первый же день». Предположительно, пост может занять лояльный к крипте комиссар Дэн Галлахер.

На конференции Bitcoin 2024 в июле Трамп заявлял о планах создать «Президентский совет по биткоину и криптовалютам» для выработки прозрачного регулирования отрасли в течение первых 100 дней после вступления в должность. Инициатива перекликается с работой Coinbase. Компания не первый год добивается прояснения правил регулирования рынка цифровых активов.

Напомним, Coinbase тесно сотрудничает с властями. В том числе, криптобиржа с 2020 года поставляет регуляторам аналитическое ПО, которое помогает отслеживать активность участников криптосообщества.
