CAR backs down from implementing cryptocurrency law in exchange for BEAC engagement

According to The Africa Report, The Central African Republic (CAR) agreed not to implement its cryptocurrency law in exchange for The Bank of Central African States (BEAC) regulating crypto assets. This common ground was reached in Cameroon’s economic capital Douala on 20 and 21 July. The Bank of Central African States (French: Banque des États de l'Afrique Centrale, BEAC) is a central bank that serves six central African countries which form the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa.
