Most of the surveyed economists (28 out of 31) predicted another rate hike by the end of the fourth quarter, bringing the policy rate to 3.00%. One predicted the benchmark rate would reach 3.25%, while the remaining two forecast it would hold at 2.75%. The median forecast shows the Bank of Korea raising the benchmark rate to 3.25% in the first quarter of 2027 and maintaining that level at least until the end of next year, which is 25 basis points higher than the forecast in the May survey.

All parties support the continued implementation of the ‘G20 Cross-border Payment Roadmap’, agree to strengthen cross-border coordination, and strictly supervise various types of crypto assets such as stablecoins.”
