Lavrov: Russia Has Not Provided Intelligence to Iran
03/26 21:50
On March 27, Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov stated in an interview that Russia has not provided intelligence information to Iran. Lavrov mentioned that U.S. intelligence agencies accused Russia of allegedly assisting Iran in determining the locations of U.S. military bases in the Middle East. He acknowledged that Russia and Iran have indeed signed a military-technical cooperation agreement and that Russia has provided certain categories of military-use products to Iran, but he denied the allegations of providing intelligence to Iran, calling it media 'hype.' He pointed out that everyone knows the coordinates of U.S. military bases in the Middle East, so Iran's attacks on U.S. bases are not surprising. Lavrov also noted that although trilateral negotiations regarding the Ukraine issue have been suspended, Russia has been informed about the content of U.S.-Ukraine contacts.
