A Coinbase whale just minted itself a Shiba Inu (SHIB) billionaire — at least on-chain. In a big move tracked by Arkham, a mysterious address got 48.53 billion SHIB from Coinbase's hot wallet, worth about $422,700 at the time of transfer.

The transaction, which happened just eight hours ago, is one of the biggest single SHIB withdrawals in the last few days.

The recipient wallet is not new to Ethereum, as it has the "Ethereum First Funder" tag, showing it has been around for a while — but its recent activity shows a clear shift. With a portfolio worth $2.54 million, the address holds 410 ETH, but SHIB has suddenly jumped to second place, with over $408,000.
While the SHIB market as a whole dropped by 2.8% today to $0.00000839, the whale's entry suggests that they are building up their position at a price they think is too low for the meme coin. SHIB recently tried to break above $0.00000900 but could not hold, trading just above key local support levels now.

Cathie Wood, CEO of Ark Invest and known as a big bull, has made a bold prediction for Bitcoin.

Speaking on CNBC’s ‘Halftime Report’ program, Cathie Wood stated that the price of Bitcoin (BTC) has largely completed its four-year downtrend.

Cathie Wood stated that the downtrend in Bitcoin is largely nearing its end, describing the recent pullback as one of the shallowest corrections in Bitcoin’s market cycles.

Wood dismissed fears that Bitcoin would face a prolonged correction, saying, “We’ve largely gotten through the downcycle, we’re very close to the bottom.”

According to Wood, Bitcoin investors should currently be bullish because Bitcoin hasn’t experienced much of a rise by historical bullish standards. Wood stated that the last bull market was lackluster by historical standards, which is limiting the severity of the current pullback.

While Wood generally maintains a bullish outlook, he nevertheless cautioned investors that BTC could retest the support level around $80,000 before making a bounce towards a new all-time high.

Wood added that this drop in Bitcoin would be the shortest decline in the four-year cycle

Crypto market steadies as Japan's bond market chaos eases


Major cryptocurrencies steadied Thursday as Japan's government bonds recovered for the second day in a row, easing a major economic worry that had dragged down bitcoin BTC$90,110.27 and other coins earlier this week


Bitcoin hovered near $90,000 during Asian trading hours after swinging sharply over the past 24 hours, while ether traded back above $3,000. Major tokens including solana, XRP and cardano also stabilized after steep losses earlier in the week, according to CoinGecko data.


The stabilization came as prices for Japan's longer duration government bonds recovered, sending yields lower.


Yields on 30-year Japanese debt fell sharply after government officials called for calm, reversing part of a surge that had pushed borrowing costs to multi-decade highs.


The renewed stabilization in Japanese bonds doesn't signal a return to risk-taking, but for now, it removes one of the immediate stress points that had forced traders into defensive mode early this week.


Japanese debt took a beating early this week, ratting global markets, including cryptocurrencies. It also lifted bond yields across the globe, including yields on Treasury notes, which underpin the global financial system.


Hardening of yields mattered for crypto because Japan’s debt market sits at the center of global capital flows. When long-dated Japanese yields spike, it raises global borrowing costs and encourages investors to pull money back into safer, interest-bearing assets.


That shift typically hurts speculative markets like crypto, which depend on easy financial conditions and abundant liquidity. Bitcoin slipped below $88,000 at one point as traders cut exposure, while altcoins fell even harder as leverage was flushed from the system.

Polygon Labs has agreed to acquire US-based crypto payments company Coinme and wallet infrastructure provider Sequence in deals valued at more than $250 million, Fortune reported on Monday.

The acquisitions give the Ethereum scaling blockchain access to Coinme’s network of US money-transmitter licenses and fiat on- and off-ramps, alongside Sequence’s embedded wallets and cross-chain payments tools for banks, fintechs and enterprises.

According to an X post from Polygon, the two companies will help form the foundation of what it calls the “Polygon Open Money Stack,” combining blockchain rails, regulated money movement and wallet infrastructure into a single platform designed for onchain payments.

Speaking on Cointelegraph's Chain Reaction podcast, Polygon Labs CEO Marc Boiron outlined how the acquisitions broaden the network’s capabilities to support enterprises as they begin to experiment with blockchain applications. He said:

 Ultimately, we become a regulated payments platform. And our goal here is to offer one fully, vertically integrated stack that can allow anyone to use stablecoins to move money anywhere.”
