BOK plans to complete the second-phase simulation related to CBDC issuance in June

According to hankyung, the Bank of Korea plans to complete the second-phase simulation related to the central bank digital currency (CBDC) issuance in June this year, and publish a comprehensive report containing the experimental results in the second half of this year. However, it is expected that the BOK will take more time to decide whether to finally issue and introduce a CBDC. When the BOK completes the second stage of the simulation study, the BOK plans to expand the linked experiment in cooperation with domestic financial institutions, overseas central banks and international organizations.
