CME Records Double-Digit Growth in Crypto Options Trading Volume in July

Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) saw a 24% increase in trading activity for crypto options in July, with a total volume of $940 million. Bitcoin options saw a 16.6% increase to $734 million, while ether options experienced a 60% increase to $207 million. The rise in BTC options volume suggests that institutions may be using options to hedge their positions due to market uncertainty. CME offers bitcoin and ether options based on the exchange's cash-settled standard and micro BTC and ETH futures contracts.
