The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) needs more resources to regulate cryptocurrencies, according to Gary Gensler, chairman of the SEC. The debt-ceiling standoff risks hurting U.S. Treasuries. If the debt ceiling is not raised before the U.S. government slips into a technical default, "capital markets will be thrown into chaos."
