American skateboarding superstar Tony Hawk launches virtual skatepark and 3D avatar collection in Sandbox

American skateboarding superstar, extreme athlete and entrepreneur Tony Hawk announced on Wednesday that he will create a skatepark and 3D avatar collection in the ethereal game The Sandbox, which will span the 36 plots (lands) of the game's land, making it the "the largest virtual skatepark ever created". The release is in partnership with Autograph, an NFT platform founded by American NFL star Tom Brady, on which Hawk released his first NFT collection last December. Hawk said, "I've been a fan of new technology all my life, starting with the first CGI-enabled video games and home computers. So I'm fascinated by the metaverse and am excited to bring our culture into the virtual world of The Sandbox".
