Google is testing a new all time closing high after briefly reaching a record intraday price near $330.

The rally has lifted Google past Apple in market value as AI progress and investor demand support shares.

Alphabet, the parent company of Google, saw its shares open about 1% higher on Thursday, briefly reaching a new intraday record near $330 before paring gains as technology stocks weakened more broadly.

The stock had previously touched an all-time high in late November, when shares briefly reached $328. Google’s highest closing price remains $323, set during that same session.

Traders are watching whether the stock can close above that level to confirm a new record close. At press time, shares had retreated toward $326 as the broader tech sector moved lower in early trading.

Despite the pullback, the stock remains sharply higher compared with late November levels.

The recent rally has pushed Google past Apple to become the fourth-largest asset globally by market capitalization, according to Companies Market Cap data. Google is now valued at roughly $3.9 trillion, compared with Apple’s $3.8 trillion.

Google has seen renewed investor interest since Warren Buffett disclosed in November that his firm increased its position in the company during the third quarter of 2025. Since that disclosure, shares have risen more than 57%.

Additional momentum has come from advances in artificial intelligence, including the rollout of the Gemini 3 model and the Nano Banana image generation system. Both releases have drawn strong early feedback, reinforcing Google’s position in the fast-growing AI market.

As 2026 kicked in, the altcoin showed bullish momentum and recorded significant gains for seven consecutive days.

In fact, after a prolonged downtrend, JasmyCoin finally made a clean breakout and cleared most of November and December losses.

As such, the altcoin jumped 35.14% from $0.0074 to a two-month high of $0.01, then slightly retraced. At press time, JASMY traded at $0.0091, up 12.14% on the daily charts.

Over the same period, its market cap reclaimed the top 100 spot, hitting $465 million, while volume surged 375% to $243 million.

But what triggered the altcoin’s breakout?

JasmyCoin hits a 2-month high

As JasmyCoin made gains for consecutive days, investors jumped into the market to position themselves, fearing they might miss out. These investors mostly rushed into the Futures market.

According to CoinGlass, derivatives volume climbed 1134% to a yearly high of $769 million. At the same time, its Open Interest jumped 87% to a four-month high of $46 million.

With OI and volume having jumped in tandem, it signaled increased participation in the Futures, either taking long or short positions.

As a result, significant capital was deployed into the Futures. In fact, Futures inflows jumped to $247.4 million compared to $245.4 million in outflows.

This saw Futures netflow jump 378.5% to $2 million, a clear sign of increased capital for leverage, hedging, and traders’ directional bets.

Profit realization skyrockets

As expected, the market jumped to a recent high; investors and holders who had been underwater rushed into the spot market and cashed out.

According to Coinalyze, on the 6th of January, buyers stepped into the market and increased positions, with Buy Volume rising to 3.09 billion.

The PUMP token has recorded an all-time high in decentralised exchange (DEX) trading volume, surging to $2.036bn. This comes as risk appetite returned to the memecoin sector at the start of the year.

DefiLlama data shows that the spike in trading activity was token-specific, rather than a reflection of a broader resurgence in pump.fun platform usage.

While overall memecoin sentiment improved in early January, the scale of the move in PUMP stands out relative to recent activity across the ecosystem.

PUMP token volume breaks prior records

DefiLlama chart data tracking DEX activity tied directly to the PUMP token shows a sharp increase in trading volume into early January, culminating in a new all-time high of $2.036bn.

The surge pushed daily volumes well above previous peaks, marking the strongest burst of on-chain trading since the token launched.

The move coincided with a rise in liquidity backing the token. Total value locked is at around $229.6m, providing a deeper base to support elevated turnover.

The combination of high volume and meaningful liquidity suggests the activity was not limited to isolated trades. It reflects broader participation in PUMP markets.

Pump.fun platform activity tells a different story

By contrast, DEX volume generated across pump.fun as an application paints a more muted picture.

Platform-wide trading activity remains below its late-2024 highs and has followed a more cyclical pattern, with no comparable breakout during the same period.

This divergence is an important distinction. The surge in PUMP trading does not appear to be driven by a renewed wave of memecoin launches or heightened churn across the platform.

Instead, it points to concentrated interest in the PUMP token itself, rather than a generalised revival in pump.fun usage.
