The move lower matters because $XRP is now sitting back near the same breakout zone traders had been watching for confirmation only days earlier.

The main scenario on the daily timeframe is neutral. $XRP is trading at 1.42, above the 20-day EMA at 1.40 and slightly above the 50-day EMA at 1.41. However, the 200-day EMA at 1.76 remains far above price, which keeps the broader structure defensive.

In plain terms, $XRP has improved on a short-term basis, but it has not repaired the long-term damage. This is the kind of setup where short-term strength can still fade into mean reversion unless price starts building acceptance above nearby resistance.

The daily chart is not weak enough to call bearish, but it is not strong enough to deserve a bullish label either. Moreover, the broader crypto market is not offering a strong risk-on tailwind, with total market cap only slightly higher over the past 24 hours and sentiment still neutral.

EMA Structure
On the daily chart, $XRP is trading at 1.42 versus the 20-day EMA at 1.40, the 50-day EMA at 1.41, and the 200-day EMA at 1.76. The fact that price is marginally above the 20-day and 50-day averages shows short-term support is holding.

What that means: buyers still have some control in the near term, but as long as $XRP remains well below the 200-day EMA, the larger trend cannot be called healthy. It looks more like a recovery inside a broader unfinished structure than a full trend breakout.

RSI
The daily RSI stands at 55.12. That is slightly above the midpoint and points to moderate positive momentum, but nothing close to an overheated market.

The rally came as capital appeared to rotate into altcoins. The CMC Altcoin Season Index rose 5% in 24 hours to 44, while its 30-day gain reached 20%. That broader shift gave fresh support to assets showing strong network, staking, and derivatives activity.

Telegram Validator Shift Strengthens Market Confidence
The first major catalyst came after Pavel Durov announced on May 5 that Telegram had replaced the TON Foundation as the TON network’s largest validator. The change gave Telegram a more direct role in network validation while allowing other major validators to participate.

The move also reduced some concerns around centralization and execution risk. Telegram’s position as a balancing force became important because the messaging platform has more than 900 million users worldwide.

That scale helped strengthen the market narrative around the network. Traders responded to the closer Telegram link as a sign of stronger ecosystem alignment and long-term infrastructure support.

Spot Bitcoin ETFs hit $108.76 billion in net assets as five weeks of inflows and fading put skew signal institutional demand is back.

U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs have recorded five consecutive weeks of positive inflows as downside hedges unwind across derivatives markets, signaling a broadening return of institutional demand.

Net inflows for the current week, ending May 6, reached $1.05 billion, bringing the cumulative total across the five-week streak to approximately $3.8 billion, according to SoSoValue data. Total net assets held by U.S. spot ETFs now stand at $108.76 billion—a record.

Bitcoin has dropped 1.3% and is trading at around $81,100, according to CoinGecko data. The leading crypto has given gains back to the market, dropping after Wednesday’s Iran peace deal news pushed it to a local top of $82,500.
Institutions are returning for three identifiable reasons: the expected resolution of U.S.-Iran hostilities, an AI-driven equity rally, and anticipated cryptocurrency legislation in Washington, according to Jeff Mei, COO of BTSE.

“Of these three, the pending passage of the CLARITY Act is most likely to be driving institutional buying as it reduces regulatory hurdles and paves the way for much broader crypto adoption,” Mei told Decrypt.

The inflow streak coincides with a structural shift in derivatives and options positioning.

The 25-delta skew—a measure of the premium traders pay for purchasing puts or bearish bets for downside protection—is compressing toward neutral across tenors, with the one-week skew approaching zero, according to Glassnode’s Thursday report.

After months of persistent put-premium, protection is being unwound rather than added, suggesting an easing of cautious behavior.
